Worth buying? Are the great review scores justified? Overall impressions? I'm interested in hearing what you guys think!

I'm still sceptic about it, I'll wait until I hear from others then reviewers.

I hope it'll be good though, so I no longer have to regret buying the 360.

I cant say so much because im not a real console fan, I just ahted the controls and stuff, took a while get that sorted.

The game itself was cool from what I saw. about 1h or so

Coop is nice as hell. thats the only thing I tried.

A bit wierd that they only have shadows on characters. thou. cant say much about it, u got to try it urselves

Overall impression from 1 h co op. - kewl

Not sure where you're getting the shadows only on characters thing. I didn't notice that...

Yes. It's worth every penny. Of course, if you're not playing coop, it might get a bit repeditive.

Best game I've ever played and beaten. Co-Op of course

Well doesn't really feel worth to get a 360 for this imo.

I would of course need to test it myself not just watch others playing

    But it seemed pretty monotonous.

seconded. I think of it as the Halo of the 360. The MP is quite excellent and I see myself actually playing a lot it. I never played much XBL games before but this one really has pulled me in.

I played with mojo, mikey, and a bunch of others a bit this past weekend and had a blast despite terribly sucking at it. Still plodding through the SP, lots going on right now or I'd probably be done with it... but it's definitely a total package affair. I highly recommend it.

Got it today, totally love it. Best 360 game by far, and probably the best game of 2006. Online co-op is genius, everything should have it!

I really should jump in some MP games. Liking the SP so far. Personally I'm more of a Mercenaries type of action/shooter gamer, but this is definetely a very solid product. If you like shooters, I don't think you'll go wrong with this one.

Played some coop yesterday with a couple of mates, and absolutely loved it. Wasn't 100% sold on it at the start - it was certainly polished and a solid shooter, but the relentless shooting just felt a bit repetitive. Half an hour in, things started getting better. An hour in, things were fucking awesome. Once you get some teamwork going and come across some of the different enemies it's a really special game, and even though it is fairly by the books, it still feels really fresh. Looking forward to trying it out single player and multiplayer too - split screen coop is great fun but the tiny vertical area each player has really limits the how impressive the game looks.

Seems like the perfect game for a huge plasma screen TV then. Hmmm!

How long did you play it for Rick? I was left kinda thinking "good, but nothing special" until the first half hour or hour, but the more I played the more impressive it became. What begins as pretty much out and out shooting becomes more tactical and teamwork oriented, and the put in some really nice combat areas that allow different approaches, particularly when playing with a friend in coop.

Dux; huge screen or no, the split screen feels very limiting. I was playing on my 32" HDTV, but its not the size thats the issue, its the aspect ratio. Splitting a widescreen TV so you've got the full screen width but only half the height feels very restrictive. It was the right choice I think - it matters a whole lot more in this game that you can see whats around you rather than above or below - but it still doesn't feel natural.

I'm playing it for the 2nd time. I've onlyplayed coop because lets face it, coop is more fun. I think the design is excellent. KFS and i were talking about it and things really are placed with thought behind it, not just aesthetics. I'm very very pleased with this game. Only thing I need to do more though is play MP with more people. I played one on one and it was enjoyable, but nothing like a team oriented xbox live match.

Lunaran commented on how shiny the specular was, but I think it matches with the style. It really pulls off as a nice graphical look.
