    ... and it was awesome!

Seriously, the controller feels so good, it's very sensitive, smooth, easy to use, easy to handle etc.

Played Wii Sports, Wii play, that Mario soccer game. Saw Metroid, Mario, Zelda (Zelda looks soooo good even with Wii's "low res" gfx display).

No doubt, definitely getting this one! Few pics from the event:

Mario Galaxy definitely is designed for the Wii, with the Wii controller in mind. It's already a great game and it's not even finished.

There are some games that will only require you to play as with a "normal" controller, save you still can tilt the controller forward or sidewise to control your character (Tony Hawk comes to mind).

The Wii booths are the same everywhere it seems, the event in Paris this past week end had the exact same columns upon which the Wii was displayed

I was looking forward to play Red Steel but it wasnt there.

One of the Metroid's boss battle looks just awesome. I can't wait to play these games with our Sony Bravia HD display

Ahahahaha, I was just about to comment that he looks ultra-camp with that pose, facial expression, and Wii-shirt combo

How good is the Wii gonna look on HD screens by the way? I only ask, because the PS2 and Xbox games I tested on mine looked really poor, and I don't want the Wii to suffer the same fate. Will component cables make a big difference? Would they also make a big difference for my old consoles?

Zelda looked absolutely fantastic on a VERY big screen (third pic) and it was a HD display.

I just played Excite Truck on one of the two Wii kiosks in the local GameStop at the mall. The controls were really cool. It took me about 15 seconds to get the hang of it. The game feels very much like Burnout. I generally don't like racing games that much, but this was fun.

For all you GBXers, that's Collin Creek Mall.

    hahahaha

Actualy i didn't liked the controls when i played it at the games convention

It felt like it was made for kids and on the other hand i thought it would be really physicaly strenous to play with that for hours.

Well at least we will see less fat gaming kids in the future.

Is it true that sound is coming out of the controller?

It's a feature developers can use, but it's not every sound in the game that comes out of it. It's not there to act in your TV's/hifi system stead. Think of it as a gameplay feature.

It's Nintendo's dual shock system. For instance in a metal detector mine game, you wouldn't have the dual shock telling where you've detected metal, but a sound. As a developer you can of course go the extra mile in trying to make the player look stupid, and have him hold the controller next to his ear to be able to hear that sound. And I say that cause it's what you'll have to do sometimes. Even Nintendo claimed that half the fun in the Wii was in looking at the player playing rather than the game being played. And I know for a fact that's a direction some devs have taken for their launch title.
