For a freelance job. What is a decent payment for a low poly model like this?

    50 polygons, 256x256 diffuse.

Well it's all up to you, everyone have different pricings. Because of the simplicity of the object I would say probably $15-$20 or in that area.

Pricing should be linked to the amount of hours put into the work. That's how freelancers bill their work. It's a per hour rate.

I usually go for $20 per hour, but then again, I don't have a degree so I can't really charge more.

    Probably around ~$20.

I've done some work freelance (admittedly mapping) but some guys were doing the models and they were getting approx $250 iirc for a view model version of a weapon, that was a low poly-ish one though.

I rate per object or per level, not per hour. Rating per hour has some disadvantages but at the end its all about what you preffer.

If you work fast and efficient tho you can earn much more by having fixed prices for certain things.

And who the hell cares if you dont have a degree, its about the work you do.

The house will do from 10 to 50. It depends who has to buy it, are they rich, will they make a lot of money out of it, are they amateurs etc.
