I was hoping that maybe philip or someone could answer this for me . I remember seeing a tutorial made by squirly a bit ago but im not sure where it is and it seemed it was a harder way or somthing.

What my question is , is what would be the best way to get these stones to stick out of the ground? i have already done this but i still get wierd stuff in between the stones and it looks bad

    diffuse

in this render i toned down the bump map setting on max to "10"

so if anyone can help i would really like that ^^

the quick and dirty way would be to just blur your heigthmap that crazybump gave you the rigth way would beto make a 1 million polyogone model were each stone is real geometry

If you want to create height correctly you REALLY want to make the spaces between your bricks as black as possible. That will clean up the shape and push the bricks out.
