Why is the thread getting jacked because of the photo of the guy smoking crackpipe?!

because that's hessi and that's a crack in a ´thread just like in a blendtexture

mapstarts looks good though - would have thought that for a road as well in the first moment

    wait its not a road?

I really love the atmosphere, you definately got that on lockdown... some better brushwork and your gold.

    Whats this map for?

ps. omg hessi... thats extremely odd that you would happen to have a picture of you as sherlock

I really hope that those textures are just placeholders, horrible. It's kinda blocky too like hessi mentioned. Everything else is looking good tho. What are you doing this for, HL2:DM?

Love the bottom left shot, even though there are dev textures in it

Middle left image looks great, but get some bigger shots. Hard to make out finer details

Need bigger screenshots. I tend to find that small screenshots are very hard to use for critiquing work / offering suggestions as:

A: they always look better than fullsize screens (not sure why, but they always do) so I find them to be a bit artificial

    B: I can't see any detail!

this is a really awesome theme you've chosen.

nice work. but as the other guys said some windows and such things on the buildings will ad a lot to the overall athmosphere.

I actually wanted to make a map in this style. A debrised "Bundesplatz" with a destroyed "Bundeshaus" by the combine. It was way too much work (and i overdozed my brushwork; Not even 1/30 of the map finished == 500 brushes oO).

Anyway, goddamn great work! I hope you'll finish that piece of art

the first few screenshots you posted reminded me of the opening scene of Constantine. Is that on purpose?

It feels like you started mapping out in a theme that's bee nstuck in my head for ages, i love it.

But indeed, with the small screen shots, that's all i can say about it really, would be nice if you released some raw, unedited shots, for the sake of proper critics.

But i'm sure as hell impressed with this, loveley stuff, quite inspiring infact.

You seem to have a good sense of big picture atmosphere. Initially I thought they looked pretty bad from a gameplay standpoint for a typical infantry style FPS, but I see the mod is all about hand thrown items. I suppose a big open space might be pretty conducive to that type of gameplay.
