Yeah I know it's a beta and an expansion but what do you think? 2142 > bf2?

The mechs make it for me....everything else is who cares. I also like how the new hover tanks can kind of like skid into corners and stuff. Prettttttyyyyyy neeatttttttt

Not played it, but it looks like it plays extremely similarly to BF2 from what I've seen in videos. And that's a good thing in my opinion.

While I loved BF2, I've grown bored of the modern military theme and I think heading into the sci-fi realm is just what's needed to reinvigorate my interest. While I'm not as bothered about the mechs as most, just using futuristic equipment that isn't all delicate and fancy like you often see really appeals to me.

BTW, are there any laser tanks? Clearly that's what you want.

I'm a huge Battlefield fan, but this one doesn't do anything for me. I think the entire thing is really messed up and doesn't feel very thought through, and in general it feels more like something that could've been an addon for BF2 than an actual stand alone game.

I think them going Sci-fi could be cool, but this just doesnt do it.

But I'm gonna play it some more before I totally make up my mind.

I played a little bit, but I dont know if I like it yet or not. When I played it was very hectic and not very...organized in terms of gameplay and team work. I'll have to sit down and actualy play a couple of hours before I decide if I buy it or not.

It's basically a mod. To call it an independent game is preposterous.

I wouldn't go that far, the gameplay is different. Time will tell.

Just because a game uses the same engine as another game doesnt mean its a mod.

It uses over 60% of the same content, so I'd consider it a mod.

I didnt see anything related to Bf2 in there, so I dont know where you get 60% unless your speaking ab out controls, and movement, animations, etc. So so much content though in my opinion.

I'll wait for something new in Quake Wars. They just haven't changed enough to warrant spending my money.

Yeah you gotta do it from in the Titan.

I was in the beta a few months ago, and it was buggy, laggy and buggered to hell. But still enjoyable. The thing that really pisses me off the most is the hitbox lag it's just a god damn joke to see yourself unload 50 bullets into an enemy and have them shrug it off as if they just had a mild cough.

Oh and yeah. Big massive 70ft tall stompy robot defeated by 5ft brick wall!

Hey dux, I didn't realise it was you that made that AG2 level. That stuff looked amazing (especially since it was shown so early). It's a shame AG2 didn't come to pass; I was especially looking forward to seeing what scary_1 was up to

Desert Combat had different gameplay compared to BF 1942 but it still was a mod. A good mod, I might add.

I agree Dux and another thing I do not like about the game after playing it some more is that there are way to few mechs to use, If I ever even find one, there is no other cool mec to fight.
