Im pretty sure they wont pull a PS3, but I bet the European launch will probably fall in the beginning of December (Like the 360's).

This Wii channels stuff is very nice. I'm a lazy bollock so just read my post if you haven't read about it yet.

Opera (internet browser) is also free if you download it via the download channel before June 2007, which is hot. It even comes with Javascript and Flash, so you could theoretically do anything you can on your PC browser. Obviously it's not a direct replacement since you'll be using a virtual keyboard and shit, but it'd be nice for checking your Gmail and stuff instead of getting the PC going.

Heck, you could even dick around with some Flash games while laid on your sofa, or go through a web-based RSS feed reader like Bloglines. I can definitely see the browser being useful.

Haha, would be brilliant if they did though, then the 360 would a half year of no next gen competition in Europe (Not that I think it would mean that much in the end).

I seriously doubt its true though, I heard Reggie saying "Global Launch", but recent developments seem like they forget Europe when they say worldwide launch

If it is true, i'd kinda like microsoft to 'win' in Europe this time around, and hopefully that'd show everyone else they need to sort it out and launch here within a couple of weeks max

still, i hope it's not true, because a wii christmas with friends could be brilliant

I read in Metro this morning that the Wii is going to be released in time for Christmas and priced at £115 here in the UK - ridiculously low, yay!

But then I remembered that they aren't confirming their euro release details until this afternoon. A quick check on some of the major game sites doesn't reveal any other claims of this tiny little price point, so to be honest I've no idea where Metro got their news from. Only that isn't quite true - I've a sneaking suspicion that they may have taken the information about the Japanese launch and simply converted the price - which comes out at a pretty close £113. If so, somebody needs to tell whoever wrote that article that it doesn't work like that!

So hey, maybe they have an actual source and today all us Euro's will be in for some pleasant news, but something tells me the price is gonna be closer the £150+ mark since we always get a little shafted for price here.

I would be extremely surprised if the Wii were indeed delayed until March 2007. Considering the PlayStation 3 was delayed until then in Europe last week, perhaps Argos has simply got its wires crossed. The fact that Argos is the only source for this rumour is very shady as Argos is simply a goods warehouse type place; there's no reason to suggest they have a better scoop than the rest of the internet.

I don't see how else they're going to successfully ship four million Wiis as they predict by the end of the year if Europe isn't part of the equation.

That said, at least we now know the Wii isn't region locked so the option of importing exists. You might have to replace the plug to work in UK sockets, but it should otherwise work fine.

Anyway, the London press event is today and word is that Iwata himself will be flying in to do the business. I guess we'll find out within hours what the score is, and can begin panicking or cheering depending on what's said.
