Not sure where to post this, but ok. Here's a video of FF!

Links to various quality / sizes available at the site:

    Enjoy (I hope!)

Wasn't blown away by the map, to be perfectly honest. I enjoyed the story behind it though, and the video's production values and voice over were absolutely... phenominal.

Overall pretty impressive stuff, FF looks like tons of fun as well

agreed, the video was made with top quality, great job, the map is nice, but it looks a bit amateurish, lots of hard edges, contrasting stuff, non blending, boxes etc, it could use some textures that blend the ground to the building, and some sets of textures to keep themes for buildings going. in addition to some roofs that use displacement maps to make them a bit messy, stuff like that. and a whole shit ton of props

I dunno, I thought it was a pretty clever remake of dust bowl Looked frantic as hell too. Can't wait.

Good video, but yea the map could use some work though your right erratic, the idea is pretty clever. I guess its toned down for performence

I enjoy the level design a lot - yes there are details to pick at but the remake is very sound. What disappoints me about FF (from what I've seen) is the player models, I just can't tell the classes apart

looks like beautiful Team Fortress. Is there a releasedate in mind? if you got all classes set and running you should release it and let the community start making levels. best way to bring up a good mod.

The way you guys built up dustbowl the map doesnt do it justice. Its got bucket loads of potential and I can see where you wanting to go but it just hasn't got their yet.

Its pretty boxy, smooth some of the corners, add trims to doors, few more props, better displacements and it will be 10x better.

Well, there's quite a few things that still need a bit of a polish IMO the theme is more important than the details. We can always build upon a good theme, whereas a shitty theme with a lot of details is just going down a dead-end street. The ambience of the map and stuff is really cool, and the dude that made the map is aware of the problems you guys have picked up on. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm somewhat surprised by this. Play TFC with 'new' models and you'll struggle to tell the models apart. Play FF and I'm absolutely positive you will have no such troubles. FF's models are essentially overhauls of the 'old' tfc models, but with a new spin. All of the classes are instantly recognisable from pretty much any distance, or at least I've never had a problem in playtesting.

We were hoping to have a closed beta ready in August, but the SDK update derailed us somewhat. There's still some bugs to sort out (nothing major, just a lot of regular or small issues) and a few models and skins to be overhauled/completed, too. We're going flat out trying to finish this

i love what the FF team accomplished. really terrific. also how you added improved things, like how a friendly spy is indicated etc.

only thing i dislike is the exagerated ragdoll acrobatics. can't you increase the weigth of death bodies or something ?

Yeah we'll be tweaking that. Most of the time it's not such a big issue as the person will generally explode instead, but we'll work on tweaking that for sure.

The site has been taking a hammering and went down, which is a bummer (the FF video got digged/dug/whateverit'scalled, but the site wasn't up to ride the wave of interest, grrr!). It's back up now.

If it happens again, I will murder a stoat in the face.

Damn... I bet they were gutted when Valve announced TF2...

Still, DB looks good... always one of my favourite TFC maps.

We always knew it could happen (TF2 being a lot more like traditional TF than Valve had originally intended) so it's not been a surprise or anything like gutting.

Oh and the ragdoll issue is now fixed in the latest build we have, so no more exaggerated ragdoll cartwheels (looks a lot better now).
