So what the story behind your username/nick? What does it mean etc?

Mine is the name of a game design/world that I've been working on for years. I chose it as the name because it reminds me of "polar opposites" such as night and day and good and evil, also it's the name of the north star.

In Tribes 2 it was a bit of a fad for people to write lame fanfic for their ingame profiles. I followed suit, and the Thriks were some shit group of enemies or something I came up with. I was 13.

A few weeks later I realised the fad was indeed lame, but decided to take my superb name creation on for my nickname. And that's how it's remained for the last five years.

my full internetname was DerHessliche which is based on the german "Der Häßliche" which sounds 99% equal. the fun part is: my real name is Hess and "häßlich" means "ugly". all those kids at school called me "hesslich" so i took this name to make them stfu.

due to some name morpings it becam hessi because its much easier to spell and shorter.

warby is taking "hessi" to next level. this would be "hesso"

got this name now for 6-7 years now.

Originally evolved from Flying Hamster, which was based off of a t-shirt I once saw which stated: "They flying hamster of doom rains down coconuts on your pitiful city". I used the nick Flying Hamster for a while, but one day I decided to join the countermap mirc channel and the name was too long. I tried the name "hamster", but that was already taken. At this time it was the age of leet speak, so I just stuck of "3" in the nick in place of the "e", and I have used this nick ever since. The rest is history.

I was 12, and I thought the nickname 'twiZteD' was cool for counterstrike. I then realized it was retarded, but everyone already knew me as twizted so I just shortened it to twiz, so its only 96% flaming homo instead of a pure 100%. I've considered changing it many times, but I just can't bring myself to do it.. Its been with me so long now.

Another interesting note, this is the only place that I still use the nick 'twiz' or any variation of it. On other forums I either use my real name, Ben Sinclair, or the awesome nickname "TomServo". I use TomServo in game as well. I also use the nickname duplox, which actually has an interesting history.

'duplox' started out DuploX. You see, my full last name is Lagosz-Sinclair. My older brother got the nick name 'Lego' since the first letters of my last name kinda sound like it. Since I'm his little brother, I then got the nickname 'Duplo', the little kid version of Legos. The highschool where I got this nickname was called Xavier, and since the yahoo email accound ']'[email protected]' was taken, I just threw the X on there for Xavier. So if you ever need to email me, [email protected]

In 1980 i got me a c64 and started to do some simple demos and stuff on it and later started a BBS. I was and i guess still am somewhat of an attention whore so i thought i should have a cool handle as i saw every one else had. So i thought up Spellbinder, wich for me represent a few things like a mighty magician or some one that could spellbind people to listen to me and never forget me. I think in the middle of 90's i actually find out what it really meant since ppl start asking me if i tok my nick from the Aussi serie Spellbinder or the band Spellbinder. Anywhy this is what it means: "an orator who can hold his listeners spellbound".

To be perfectly honest then I have no idea of how I exactly came up with Mazy, since I hardly remember how I thought back then, it's probably around 8-9 years ago (Making me around 12 years old at the time).

What I do remember is that I originally went with just "Maz", so it'd be ideal for highscore boards where you only had 3 initials. But after using that for a bit I sort of realized that it needed some spicing up, and what better way to spice it up than add a "Y" .

I really have been saying that I've taken that name because it refers to my maze like maps layouts (Well, some of them we're very maze like ), but this was long before I even thought about doing any serious mapping, but it makes for a better story I guess
