What did you do at Easy Studios? Strange situation but I am glad you end up another job directly.

I did weapon art and fx for BF heroes.

Its not super strange, my employer was always DICE. Easy was sort of DICE's little brother/sister who did free2play titles. BFH and BFp4f

Hey guys & girls. Just a small correction for the first page on this thread.

SCEE Cambridge is Guerilla's (Killzone) UK studio and I've always worked at the London Studio not the Cambridge one.

Hope y'all are well and I am looking forwards to posting something a bit special here very soon

After having a tough time in deciding what to do next, considering finally making the big push to go abroad, plus having a couple of local offers and potential gigs making it a way harder decision than it should be, then I’ve gone with something fairly different and have joined something called Brain+, headed by one of my former colleagues. There I’m working as a Game Designer on smaller brain training games and will collaborate with university researchers to prove and hone their effectiveness, improving the general quality of the games, as well as pretty much rebooting and redesigning the app as a whole to have a stronger game-like vision.

It certainly doesn’t have prestige of working on big games, but right now I’m honestly fine with that, I’m sure that I’ll get back to working on bigger or more traditional games at some point. Having worked there for most of February already then it does feel pretty good and refreshing to try and get outside my comfort zone and tackle some very different types of challenges, though I guess time will tell whether it’ll stay interesting for long.

It does feel kinda weird to be working on games that doesn’t involve caving people’s heads in with a hammer tho :G~

Very very interesting I recently visited the marble brain shop in San Francisco. Even though I don't like their offers, I am seeing a big shift in self improvement tech.

I am doing a lot of research in my free time about these things, so it is cool to hear you are working on these kind of games

Yeah, the biggest draw for me was how much untapped potential there is in these types of training programs right now, and how gamifying and creating further incentives to make it even more rewarding could potentially be huge. Especially considering that there's already a few key players in the market that aren't doing any of this. Plus just making games that are actually fun and competitive with other stand alone games on the market, but with an added benefit of being proven in helping your cognitive performance.

I thought you were gonna work with the indie scene (limbo?) in denmark. What happened?

Already posted it on Fecesbook the other day, but my gig at Playdead has come to an end. It's an amazing bunch of talented people, we leave it with mutual respect and no bridges burned, but sadly it just wasn't a good match. Already got a few potential new gigs lined up tho, but I'm probably going to take a small break.
