my cdrw drive wouldnt burn cd-r's anymore so i decided id try and update the firmware. i tried like 2 times and then "zooooooop" computer goes off and powers down. not caring i turned it back on and to my surprise heard a loud pop when all the lights in my computer went on and off for like a second. then the smoke came. the horrible smell of the capacitor or whatever it is getting busted inside....the thing was so hot that i couldnt bare to touch it even with oven mits (yea i know im a girl)
so let this be a lesson to everyone, when buying high end parts, dont go cheap on the power supply
now i have to buy another powersupply just to find out what other parts i lost in a possible surge
