    hello

Its based off of the 1.3 official map dod_sturm, I have decided to take the map in a different direction and make it more fun for source while adding some atmosphere with a snowy setting.

The layout is basically just scaled up because in my opinion DOD:S gets a bit frantic in close range and I don't enjoy maps that force too much of that type of fighting.

    Hope you like.

did anyone else get a chuckle with "based off sturm"?

anyway, it looks slick the only thing i really noticed that was lacking was a 3d skybox

Hey man looks very nice. If you had a 3d skybox this would be completely hot

Is that a displacement messup on the bottom right of the last shot?

    oh and welcome to mapcore

Its hard to tell from the angle of the shot but thats where the snow from the street meets the sidewalk.

    Thanks for the welcome

    looks hot indeed!

my feedback would be the following:

    - lighting seems a bit blend (like; I don't see any shadows beneath the snowed tiger and it looks like it's floating because of that), also: I think it would look better with HDR (or more of that): winter has a blinding sun!

    - from the pictar I think some tree props could be placed a bit more logical (I'm talking about the bridge area) and maybe more 'grouped'

    - sidewalks could use a bit more detail (even if it's only a different texture wich shows a rim or so)

I can btw really see the resemblance with sturm (and no, I didn't chuckle) and I'd also like to say the church R0xorZ!

apart from this: welcome to mapcore!

I don't know, I'm kind of tired of these dod maps. They all look the same. It looks cool indeed but doesn't bring anything new to be quite honest.

Another thing that bothers me is that it does not have any destruction at all! Try and change the atmosphere, add some destruction to the map and twisted landmarks then it can actually look fresh. Otherwise people will play your map and forget about it soon after.

Sorry to sound a bit harsh but that's my opinion.

    keep it up anyways.

Yea, not a big fan of remakes. The level looks amazing though, good job.

Seriously, I'm sick of these maps where the buildings are almost "ripped" from the Valve made maps. Why can't people design on stuff anymore?

Also, every screenshot is pointing at sky, I have no interest in looking at your skybox.

    Sorry.

well it is a competent map. visually i like the detail level, though it does look like everything else in dod already...which is good and bad depending on whom you ask.

it does lack an flavor of destruction or combat. I suggest adding some cool looking damage to spot that is original ...uh...try thinking of a "different" way a building or area of the map would be damaged, such as a tree knocked over into a "fragile" roof and the roof is caved in and damaged not just as if from a bomb... i'm rambling but listen to the advice above...it is good.

still great start!!! i'm looking forward to imprUvements.

those look excellent, i really like the first. my only suggestion would be to extend the roof tops some more to add more of an overhang.

looks great, love the latest ones.

The third one of the last ones looks great, but try to give the right corner on that building some depth.

Maybe some holes or something, it just looks a little plain for that scene.
