How long have you played Counter-Strike? 0

    1. Less then a year. (0) 0%
    2. More then a year. (0) 0%
    3. Two years or more. (0) 0%
    4. Three years or more. (0) 0%
    5. Four years or more. (0) 0%
    6. Five years or more. (0) 0%
    7. Six years or more. (0) 0%
    8. Seven years or more. (0) 0%

A simple question i don't want to be filled with shit from EOT so restrain yourself pls. But i want to know how long you have played Counter-Strike including Source. Pls add the first map you remembered aswell. For me it was CS_Desert and it was awsome back then, it was a favorite for us at the school. I started in 1999-2000 and it might have been beta.v.1 but im not 100% sure. So that makes it 7 years! Time fly bye.

4 years. I never really liked CS tbh but I used to play it with friends some times.

My first map was de_dust and it was also my first experience with the "A-W-S-D + mouse" fashion. The funny thing is that when they changed the map I was the top fragger

I never really liked the game that much, though I will occassionally play in a LAN situation with people here at work.

Beta 5 I think, the Barking Dog era as someone mentioned.

I didn't really get into it till around version 1, when I finally had the internet.

Started with Beta 6 at a lan party. First map was dust. Played it religiously until version 1. Gotta thank CS for getting me into the modding scene.

Beta 1, I was fortunate to have a (prototype) cable modem back then.

90% of people had a 200+ ping while I had a 40-50 most of the time

suffice to say it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

The first map I remember playing was cs_siege.

Looking back it was funny, because during the first month of playing cs

I didn't know how to buy weapons. I thought the weapons were just randomly

placed in the map . So I used to follow a guy with a weapon, so

when he was dead I could get the gun.

Orange hossies on the loading screen, colts with scopes and a 33.6k modem. How I hated the Dutch folks at the time, with their fat DSL connections and sub 50ms ping, while I was sitting around 200ms and getting boned by my ISPs policy of auto disconnecting you every 2 hours.

I started out with beta 3 back in late 99 or early 2000. For the first few weeks I only played it at a mates house where they had a network setup between two comps. Before that I had never gamed over LAN or internet before, so it it was both a new game and a new way of playing.

I still consider beta 7.2 with it's driveable APC in Siege and such to be the best CS version. Since then it just went downhill or at least I got bored of it.
