Gearbox Cogs, Level Design and Texture Artist for BiA3

    So children of mapcore. I am here to begin scouting for Gearbox Cogs to work on BiA Hell's Highway as level designer and texture art contractors with the oppurtunity to go full time. We are a licensee of Unreal 3 technology so you'd also have the oppurtunity to play with newer and prettier toys than the rest of the children.

    What you need :

    1) An online portfolio that showcases how awesome you are, please do not email portfolios as attachments, only your resume should be attached.

    2) To have graduated high school. Sorry no one under 18.

    3) Some game development or mod experience.

    4) A pretty smile or a desire to make one.

    I sure have a pretty smile, so I guess atleast I qualified for one of them.

    Would this be onsite? Is off-site work nothing that companys do anymore?

    btw;

    this Cogs program, it's a thing to give new people a little taste of what the industry is like? Is there anywhere with more info on what Cogs is (public)?

    Cogs just just means "Contractors of Gearbox"

    The percentage of people that go through this program that become full time at Gearbox is over 50%. The percentage that get jobs elsewhere in the industry is 90%.

    So it's a good deal either way.

    It's not intern or offsite.

    It's a paid, on site, contract position for a set number of months. At the end of the period if you're good enough (which is likely) we offer you a job.

    So I take it, since it's onsite, that you're only looking for people with US working permit? Or does Gearbox help you get one?

    Well, I live in Plano, I am 19, I have some experience, and I have a pretty smile. I just don't have a damn portfolio.

    It's not a commute bic, it's a relocation.

    If you are selected we put you up in an apartment for the duration of your contract... and you can watch movies at my house or something.

    i was kidding there's no way id be able to not go to college and relocate to texas to make games no matter how neat it sounds

    cool that you do the apartment stuff, i wouldn't expect that

    Taken from the cogs application thingy:

    Quote

    * You must be 18 years of age or older. * You must be able to work within the vicinity of Plano, Texas, and provide your own housing and transportation.

    * You must be a high school graduate.

    * You must be able to make a full-time commitment to the Gearbox Software COGS program for the duration of your contract (usually 3-6 months).

    * You must have a serious commitment to a career in video game development.
