You people all love the man rod. The greatest ending ever was in teh game Mafia. Pure genious, just like one of those awsome mob movies. NO ONE gets away from teh mafia!

Splinter Cell 2 = worst / played this when it came out.. wow.. what a let down.. the whole airport thing.. it was so lame...

I would have to say that the best ending to a game that I have witnessed would be that of Unreal 2.
It was quite a sad ending, the atmosphere created at the and of the game was quite intense, it was almost as if you could feel what the emotions the main character was feeling, and the ending was also left very open.
Quite Cinema worthy.
The worst ending...
(shudder)
...Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Pathetic ending, fun game yet terrible ending. -
The worst ending is, and always will be, the original Ghouls and Ghosts.
You've just toiled through one of the most frustrating games there is and what do you get? "Congraturation" (note the spelling) and then the game loops.

Ive got it!
Best ending in a game was the Nod ending of C&C Tiberium Dawn!
BLOW UP THE WHITE HOUSE! You cant beat that!
-
im at the end of disc 2 in FF7
i dont know what all those nerdy fan boys are always crying about, aeris dying wasnt that amazing.
-
I didn't cry either (my jaw just dropped), but maybe it didn't move you as much 'cause you already knew it was going to happen.
-
thats true
the music though after she dies and you fight jenova (whichever one it was) is pretty nice though

Don't you mean "Ghosts and Goblins" ? :!
Yes I do. I've been playing too much Warcraft 3 methinks.
And if you KNOW Aeris is going to die you obviously don't get the full effect. It was a really well done sequence; there aren't many games that can match that. Especially ones with such shoddy graphics and quassi-midi music.
Edit: Holy shit, Darkplace signature.
Edit 2: More faggotry
Quote from GrayFoxFF8 is soooo underrated it makes me ill.
FF8 was great, I thought it was better than FF7 in a lot of places. But it just got stupidly easy if you spent the tiniest amount of time building up your characters or used Squalls limit break. I remember my Zell took out every single monster in the final area (except omega, of course) and whenever he got low health he PUNCHED HIMSELF IN THE FACE for a full 9999 again.
Unlike FF9 where they went back to their roots where levelling up sessions were mandatory, and all the levelling in the world couldn’t prepare you for that hilarious section where you head to the northern continent, plough through endless snow, into a city carved of ice at the foot of a looming snowy mountain wherein you equip all your characters with anti-ice gear and fire spells and head inside to find A FIRE-THEMED DUNGEON LOADED WITH CREATURES THAT USE FIRE SPELLS AND MAKE YOUR CHARACTERS DIE IF THEY MOVE.
-
aeris dying was sad..someone had spoiled it for me and told me she died, so that really sucked.
final fantasy 8 was too easy to level up, 1 level every 1000xp..i do like that idea of zell punching himself to restore health tho
