I don't really see how this is so bad. And not because they might not be the only one doing this.

Compare it to a plate of delicious food. The way it's made up adds to your conception of taste. So, as long as the team doesn't disappoint, I don't see any reason to condemn it. However, I'd like to see real images also but I don't think thats anything demandable since it's just a mod and stuff.

I fucking knew that was a go-nowhere project. DaveL is a gigantic douchebag to boot. I feel sorry for the people that spent time on it, but not his stupendous ego.

I think this guy is over-reacting. Everyone does this these days. The most important thing is that everyone who has their work featured on this magazine now has something really kick-ass and impressive to put in their portfolios.

Who cares if the mod never comes out or is only x far along at time t. Even if the mod becomes vaporware, everyone who worked on it got something out of it. Whoever made those models and levels can now say "My work was in a frontpage article in CGW".

If this is true it's a shame cause they are bullshitting not only the mag but everyone who bought it. I doubt their models aren't animated though... Otherwise they wouldn't start a beta test, they would look ridiculous to their testers.

i searched my mapcore log which its about 3 years old and he has maybe 20 lines of talking, with 10 of them being smilies. there's nothing there

He tried repeatedly to recruit me to his mod but I took one look at how he ran things and how much he wanted from people and said "No thanks." To which he responded with a whole lot of self-righteous "Who needs you anyways" and condesending shitty attitude.

I make mods for fun. Working on a fucking work time table in a "professional mod" atmosphere isn't fun.

Again, I have sympathy for the people working on the project, just not DaveL. The guy is a pompous windbag.
