Wii price announced...

Will probably be £150 in the UK then I'd wager, since it's very rarely accurate to the exchange rate. £150 is damn good though - I was thinking it would probably be a £199 rather than £150 so I'm happy with the news

I love the price. I am going to take one.

But now i have heard there are some problems with the Wii.

if you have "Halogeenverlichting" [its dutch; dont know the english word] then there are problems with the Wii.

Halogen lighting? What effect could that have?

Based upon previous launches, I was fully expecting a $230-250 price range for the first year or so with it going down to $175-200 for the Holiday 2007 season.

Yeah, Nintendo isn't very creative with their pricing. They've launched the N64 and GC at the same price point and brought that price point down at pretty much the same intervals ($200 at holiday season, $179 at following E3). Give it three years and it will be $99.
