Video of vicious beatings leads to fight crackdown

    Quote

"One young man fell and struck his head on a curb and lay motionless as his opponent continued punching him. When the young man was dragged away, a patch of blood remained."

What the fuck is wrong with most of America's youth? It really pisses me off to see how people will actually pay to watch people brutally beaten. Of course such things can happen in other countries, but when only one city in an entire country has hundreds of fights within a few weeks, most of them being absolutely pointless, it really shows that America is quite low on the totem pole for decency in our world.

That is just one of the many reasons why the U.S. keeps getting shittier and shittier by the hour. The amount of conformity that takes place is simply pathetic, with teenagers (hell, even children) discussing how they are going to beatdown so-and-so, or how they are going to get wasted after school. I could rant on and on, but I don't want to turn into Maddox.

In all seriousness though, I guess you could dictate I'm not proud to be an American. As the saying goes, "Only in America".

It's not only America mate.. But I totally agree with you when you ask wtf is wrong with us? Could this be the result of too much freedom? Is there such thing as too much freedom?

But in contrast to most Islamic countries i.e., I'm glad to live in a western society!

There is also the strange trend of kids wanting to live the "gangsta" life.

It's a global thing I guess, it's pretty bad down here in Brazil too.

Have you ever read "the revolution of everyday life ?" I can't forget some lines which were like this: "Meanwhile capitalism brought hapiness to our citizens it also created the concept of 'happiness'". My shot is that nobody is truely happy anymore but they fake it with material possessions. Talk to one of these kids and you will see that all they can talk about is designer clothes, expensive caps, cell phones and etc... They are completely empty in the inside.

Another thing that pisses me off about our society is that they make us, people with an opinion, look like one of those 70s-angry-pseudo-intelectual guys. So if you do anything different from other people you are instantly labeled.

Well yeah, that's just my shot. If you haven't seen Fight Club yet go get it.

It's the same everywhere, I think it just gets less coverage because the mass media isn't nearly so well developed as it is in the US.

I simply wish people wouldn't take freedom for granted. If we actually strictly enforced our laws, then we would be so much better off. Look at Singapore. Their crime rate is quite possibly the lowest there is simply because they enforce the rules that they create. Here are some statistics of various crime rates...

    Murders per 100,000.

    1. Russia Federation 18.07

    2. United States 6.32

    3. Malaysia 2.73

    Taiwan 1.17

    Spain 1.08

    Japan 0.58

    Rape per 100,000.

    1. United States 34.20

    2. England and Wales 14.69

    3. France 13.38

    Taiwan 8.82

    South Korea 4.38

    Spain 3.23

    Japan 1.48

    Serious Assault per 100,000.

    1. Australia 713.68

    2. England & Wales 405.20

    3. United States 357.94

    Taiwan 37.30

    Spain 23.94

    Japan 15.40

    Robbery/Violent Theft per 100,000.

    1. Spain 169.85

    2. United States 169.02

    3. France 144.10

    Taiwan 14.35

    South Korea 11.74

    Japan 2.71

Now, look at the United States. We are in the top three for every single category. How fucked up is that?

Might be a problem doing that in the US. But then again since the current government likes to butcher the Constitution, maybe it wont be that big of a problem...

Enforcing the laws that are already in place would help, or else military training camps will do the trick.

Maybe only a war can bring back respect to the youth.
