So what was the thing at E3 that impressed you the most?

It can be a game, a console, a booth or simply a piece of news announced at E3. So please tell us what in your opinion was the

best that E3 had to offer this year.

Personally I thought the most awesome thing evar was the

    Supreme Commander presentation.

I'm confident it will be the best RTS game ever made

I was REALLY impressed with Crysis footage but Nintendo's Wii was definately the best thing on the whole showfloor.

Most impressive footage was probably the Crysis jungle video frie just linked to. Holy crap that looks good...just, ridiculously good. I can almost forgive the guy videoing it for the constant "oh my god"'s and "sick"'s

Supreme Commander has me interested in RTS games again - something that hasn't happened since, oh, Red Alert, Warzone 2100, and Total Annihilation.

Gears of War just looks fun fun fun. Really looking forward to playing that.

Also, Test Drive Unlimited and Forza 2 (even if the latter didn't show anything of worth) make me glad to be a racing game fan

Oddly, though it did look like a complete rip off of Max Payne, Stranglehold also had me drawn in. Hugely destructible environments and crazy over the top action.

Gears of War's first level. there was a great clip somewhere that had an interview with ol' CliffyB beforehand, too, and it was awesome hearing him talk about how the entire game was built around the idea of 'slamming' into cover and that sort of aggressive presentation instead of the slow shimmying in other cover-based games. Then seeing the evolution of that into that level had me really excited.

Runner-up: Rainbow Six: Vegas and the tease-tacular Halo 3 trailer (I'm a terrible person for that, I know...)

I seem to be big on the third person shooters lately. I might have liked PDZ if it had stayed a TPS instead of clunkily bouncing back and forth.

    Other stuff I really liked:

Microsoft's integration of Live-style goodies across all their platforms, emphasis on PC gaming with Vista and onward.

    pretty much everything Nintendo

    Too Human

    Mass Effect

    BIA, of course

    Company of Heroes

    Viva Pinata

    Quake Wars

    God of War 2

    Naughty Dog's teaser

    Assassin's Creed

    Resistance

...yeah. Lots of stuff I enjoyed this year.

Nintendo's conference, MGS4 (15 min) and Halo 3 trailer (Certainly did it's job and got me excited)

I'd put the Crysis Jungle demo on if I had actually seen it in a proper res, but since thats apparently impossible get your hands on then thats a no go for now

Overall a pretty good E3, a shame there werent any gameplay movies from lots of the games~~bioshock~

Dead Rising was really fun stuff. Just felt awesome.

MGS4 was cool (as expected of course), and Crysis was aswell. The FPS for Crysis was horrible in the jungle level but the carrier level was great. Sucks they were running it in DX9.
