Yes, it is that complicated numbnuts. High school drama and high school depression is dealt with and above all: TEMPORARY. There's a level of maturity and sense of self that most people get after they've gone through their teenaged years. If you can't get past that you're weak, and if you choose suicide you're even weaker and you really don't care about others and are selfish to the extreme fault. Her life effected others, especially her parents who now have a huge hole in their lives because of their selfish shit-head goth daughter. Here's a hint RD, she's not with Jesus, she's not with the Devil, she does not exist anymore. She is inanimate carbon molecules slowly diffusing back into the nether or other molecular structures. She gave up her life and her consciousness because of some petty, temporary drama-laden teenaged woe and that is disgusting.

I haven't read into her suicide at all so have no idea myself, but do you actually know the reasons behind her commiting suicide, or are you just assuming the standard goth tripe?

I've known plenty of goths to know it was definitely the standard goth tripe. They're drama queens of the highest order. I can almost guarantee her last thoughts before she did whatever it was that turned her into dirt was "Haha, this'll show 'em..."

I'm with Posty. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. One less useless/selfish person in the world. If it turns out she had a terminal disease and/or was going to die in the near future, I will retract my statement. Until then, no dice.

Your in control of your life, and your emotions, because your in control of your existence and the universe and everything that goes with it. If you want to live a happy life, you can do it no matter your situation, it is just hard to do and may take time. If you want to live a sad depressing life, you will reguardless of your situation. You can control your emotions (this can be shown scientifically by how the hypothalamus produces peptides etc) Its hard to do for some people, but its possible.

You exist as a neural network, your life is that neural network, you choose how you want it to be. This can stand true for even the farthest extreme examples.

You create reality, you create the one truth in the world, which is reality, or existence or life or whatever you want to call it, I suppose its your right to cease existence. Although I believe it is possible, many cases perhaps very hard but still possible, that all who choose to commit suicide due to extreme depression or whatever can turn those emotions around and lead happy fulfilling lives.

Everythings mental... The mind has no limitations, however there are barriers which are nearly impossible to break, and it is at these barriers where we run into problems.

A seriously disturbing lack of empathy here. It's apparent few of you have ever been to close to a suicide before or have even the slightest inkling of the mind-state of someone considering such. Folks in that position need help not scorn, and generally have a very good reason for what they are contemplating.

I am a little shocked at some of the stuff I am reading here, not the specifics but the implicit underlying values. I didn't think a professional site would be home to bigotry like this.

Guyyys, there's no point to discuss if suicide is justified or not, a death is always tragic.

If I actually knew the person that died and would like to express my condolences.

I certainly wouldn't do it in fuckin' WoW.

Maybe Friechamp can shed a little light on exactly why she took her own life, but my money's on "typical goth depression BS mixed with attention-needing BS."

Bigotry implies a specific caste or race of people. Suicidal teenagers are neither.

I think you missed the point of my arguments though. Her death is tragic to her family and friends and her death was selfish because it caused that tragedy and was a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

A weak attempt to explain life by simplifying things. Besides that your logic has a disturbing conclusion: evrybody that isnt happy is weak. The truth that you yourself are too weak to face is that sometimes things will never get ok again.

The sadness of losing a child is temporary. Life itself is temporary.

When you are an old men you can look back and believe that they were just temporary problems from the good old days. But the truth is we live now, not in the future.

Obviously you havent tried hard enough at understanding other humanoids aka EMPATHY. When you have a disturbed childhood, you will never reach the level of maturity which you are talking about. The person you have developed into will never go away.

Life can be good and life can be bad, dont pretend otherwise Posty.

I have no idea why this goth angel killed herself and neither do you. You projected your negative thoughts onto her while at the same time pretending to be positive in life. Ironic.

Highschool and all the problems of being a teenager are about as temporary as you can get. Four years unless you get held back, but then that's your own damned fault, just like dressing in black, wearing corpse makeup and then wondering why people treat you like an outcast.

    Quote from RD

The sadness of losing a child is temporary.

Please go talk to a grieving mother ten years after losing her child, or heck at any time during her life. She might have come to terms with it, but the pain and sadness still linger under those scars. It is in no way as temporary a problem as not being popular in high school.

    Quote from RD

    Life itself is temporary.

Life is your entire life, so in the grand scheme of your own life it's an entirety, not a temporal state of being.

Oh cut the esoteric bullshit, RD. You state obvious natures while skipping completely over the fact that in this case this dumbass's actions hurt all those around her for a purely selfish solution to very temporary problems. I have empathy for her problems, not her actions. I have empathy for her parents and friends. You make sweeping assumptions while trying to play up this moral pedestal but honestly your reading comprehension sucks.
