Yep I saw it when it premiered in Finland. I liked it a lot, however it was a truely weird movie.

this is not a sequel, it has nothing to do with oldboy.

by the way, there's hollywood remake of oldboy coming and it's probably gonna suck big time.

Aye Oldboy was pretty good, was a tad disappointed when I saw it the first time (Was expecting something else from the trailer). Anyway as alot better the second time I saw it~

Donno about that movie looks okay I guess, and an American Oldboy remake? :sigh:

South Korean, yeah. They have a really strong film industry - lots to check out if you've got the time and are willing to put a little effort in. I highly recommend 'Memories of Murder'.

Oldboy's great, naturally. The hammer scene alone is joyous.

Oh man, an American remake? Why do they have to try and put their stamp on good foreign films? I'm avoiding watching the US remake of French film Taxi like the plague - they not only changed the Mercedes gang into bikini babes, but switched uber-taxi driver Daniel for Queen Latifah - and I'm not exactly sure what to think about the remake of Hong Kong classic Infernal Affairs starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

There was a dutch movie of a man being buried alive and the last 10 minutes of the movie he is scratching his coffin to get out which he never does. In the American remake he escapes.

I can kinda understand why because its probably the most horrible way to die and they dont want to bring serial killers to the idea.

On the other hand its pathetic.

Because original ideas are risky and it costs a lot of money to make a movie

I liked Lady Vengeance better then Oldboy for some reason.

Just like Constant Gardener youre feelings for some characters are changing during the movie.

And since I am a father the last part of the movie was pretty intence.

Its just lack of imagination, balls and any sort of creative thinking.

Well that was intense too but no, I mean't last part of Lady Vengeance.

The three films are a trilogy about vengeance but othervice unrelated. At least old boy and lady vengeance was, I havent seen the first; Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.

I think we can safely assume that the that one concerns a bit of vengeance too
