Hey guys, I did more work on that empire 3d scene

    [Blocked Image: http://jonmdesign.net/work/3d/sunrise01.jpg]

I am still planning on working on it a bit more so I figured I would post it here and get some ideas from mapcore (whose feedback I truly appreciate) before I finalize it. But it is done for the most part.

I rendered this with finalRender, but it took like 50 hours or so, which is a bit too much, so I switched over to vRay, render times are much better now...

holy shit that's some huge work you got there.

My only complaint is the lighting, I think it needs stronger shadows. Appart from that it looks pretty good. And oh god, 50 hours ??

holy fuckshit that's cool. only thing i'd change is the lighting, just to get some dramatic shadows in there.

When I saw that I yelled "Jesus!" rather loud. Woke my brother up who is on the other side of the house. He walked into my room all pissed, I pointed at my screen, and then he said "Jesus!".

    true story. (read: excellent work)

There's this cool sort of style all your renders have that, especially in looking at this one, makes me think Oblivion. But I think Oblivion is kinda ugly. This is not ugly at all!

    I dig it!

Wow, huge improvement over the last one, looks great.

I'll try and think up some stuff later, good stuff as usual Jonnie~

Omai. Beautiful work! For criticism, I would recommend more emphasis on the textures, as they seem a bit bland, or it may just be how the lighting is. Regardless, looks good! Could you show us a wireframe?

This looks very very good, almost real. There are some stuff in the background that looks a little off, and the lighting gives it away, but that hardly matters...

Also, some postwork in Photoshop wouldn't hurt. I mean, adding a bit of contrast can do wonders for the lighting. For example:

Hope you don't mind... :embarassed: I mean, it looks fantastic regardless!

By the way, would you mind doing a really high res render of it? Seems a waste that its so little with all the details there.

Also SinsterSquirrel's constrast edits are cool ~

I love this scene. Beutiful, especially with some contrast added. O really cant find anything that you should add.

Adjusted ones are better. The scene is nice in general but next to the cotnrast adjusts Id also experiment with a color overlay on top to unify the colors more.

And if youre really bored Id make a evening or night version. You picked the most boring time of the day right now, noon. Add more feel and emotion to it. Drama. A nearing storm or evening or whatever.

    theres a wire frame

Yes, now that I am vray I am able to render it at a much higher res and will do that,

thanks for your feedback and the plug.

The storm idea is a good one. I was thinking about making a giant tidal wave in the background and calling the peice Atlantis, I think I may do that

And also thanks for the contast example too, will take that into consideration!

An awesome piece of art as usual from you

Can't wait to see what you will cook up with the tidal wave idea and such.
