hi, i recently upgraded my computer; almost complete overhaul

i have a BFG 7900GT 256 mb pci express card

    AMD athlon 64 x2 3800+

2x512 corsair xms platinum series RAM

    120GB WD 7200 rpm HDD

    1 optical drive

    no floppy drive

my question is this: with this setup, is a 350W powersupply enough to power this setup?

the psu is an antec smartblue 350w

    thanks.

I don't really know about your computer but I think that if you have this 350w power supply box it must take to get electricity for the other parts of the Pc.

If you have coolers and fans montained inside the chassis you will get dropped some power to them, your Ram is eating power and worst of all the graphics card too. To be sure and not letting the components smelting get an 450w supply and you will be happy. You can also try to check the voltage level score in BIOS at startup and from there engineere what values you need. I recommend you to stay away from BIOS if you are not an specialist or have good computer skills. Everything needs to be correct in a Pc, If not like that you will be very mad when the system will crash.

I looked up your video card and discovered this under system req.:

A 350W PCI Express compliant system power supply (with 12V current rating of 20A or more)

So potentionally, you can, but you're running to bare minimum. Antec is a great brand specially for their SmartPower technology and adjustments, so I'd recommend this so you don't overheat easily:

It's also what I run with, and I had no trouble installing or anything with it's usage.

yeah, get something with more juice. You can run that with a 350, but I wouldnt recommend it. get at least a 480-500.

You definately need a 500W power supply, they aren't that expensive really so you should be able to find a decent setup at a good price.

Nice spec btw, how much did you pay for it?
