Small update of some of the sections that had little time spent on them. Still need to add loads of decals, more roof details, and adjust the lighting like BlackPanther suggested.

    Criticism appreciated.

    Looking good.

The red shingles in some of the shots look strange to me, they almost look like they are rotated in the wrong direction.

SEXY AWESOME WHOCHA BEST CS:S MAP EVER SEEN

the first pic could use a higher texture on left wall though

In the second pic, dead center, the smoothing groups could maybe be toyed around with so you'd have a smoother transition in the lighting of your 90° angle. It more or less looks like the left side is completely in the dark and only takes ambient, where as the right side takes the sun directly.

Looks really nice man, lighting has improved imo. But I notice that some lamps are on and the sun apparently is almost straight above...

    but its all good anyway

    Beautyfull.

You found the right balance between beauty and that good feeling i had on old maps like chateau or prodigy. For some reason i absolutely feel comfortable in that environment you created.

    Top-notch environment design work.

    Some criticism:

-HDR (like always) seems overdone on some screens

-The sky seems like brightest daylight, but all lamps (even in outside areas) are on

    Thanks for the comments.

Polaris - Thanks will check out the shingles.

e-freak - Map is not worthy of that kind of praise, but appreciated That texture will be adjusted.

Furyo - at the moment, the lighting is kind of straigt on. I have tried to avoid angled lighting, since this often casts those jagged shadows that source does not handle too well. When nearer final, I will work properly on the lighting side of things.

Meotwister - Lighting does look odd in places, as do the lamps. When I do some lighting adjustments, I will see what lamps are in the dark, and keep them on, while the ones in the lighted areas will get turned off.

KIIIA - Glad you like it so far. I wanted to add the dev shot cameras, and do lots of light builds, takes screens, and see what ones looked the best, but dev shots don't seem to work at the moment. So for the tme being, the lighting will look iffy.

mh maybe you got me wrong -> this map looks (at least on the screens) better than any other map i've seen for css so far (maybe JeanPaul's map but that seems more art related). so take it as worth of that kind of praise

yeah and good to know about the texture ^^

    Thanks for the comments

Sorry about all the lost images. My host changed. Here are some more, though they don't have HDR enabled. I was looking to get people's feedback on the 3d sky rocks. Do they look a bit too big or out of place?

I was going to go for mountains, using the displacement to 3dmax height map to terragen stuff (as suggested by PhilipK), but gave this style a go first. I have other parts in the 3dsky, such as a road for cars leading off into the distance, a rocky cliff/beach/water area, and a forest, which I will hopefully show soon.

I know that there are lots of issues and things that can be rebuilt or improved upon in the main part of the map, and the lighting and the shadows also needs more work. All the dod:s decals and props will be replaced with custom ones if I get the time.

Feedback on the big rocks in the sky appreciated.

I like the idea, but I think they look too much like scaled-up boulders than mountains.

    Something more like this:

I think the texture/coloring on your mountains is great, just hte shape needs tweaking. Make it more like a hill, not so vertical.

Hi, Really nice work on this map, think it looks really rad, I especially like what you have going on with the silhouettes and skylines, very cool stuff with the cliffs/rooftops and antennae going all around.

Gameplay also looks quite vertical with lots of ups and downs which is always nice imo. However, I do think that the streets look a little empty, maybe a street vending kiosk or two, benches, a few trashcans and maybe some touristy little stands(postcards) outside a store or so[maybe too poly heavy and fiddly?], just a bit of general prop population to give players some small cover and street busyness. Otherwise I'm really liking it, looking forward to a beta.

looking good -- could almost be a dod map (I mean that as a compliment!) given the textures.
