24: The Game

    Anyone get this yet? I tried the demo...found it rather meh. Just came out in the us. PS2 only.

    Since so many people here watch 24 or watched in the past, was curious to see what people think of the actual game.

    I am once again hooked on the latest season of 24. Somehow it keeps hooking me despite it's ridiculousness.

    The only way it can be entertaining to me is if it bridges the gaps between say seasons 4 and 5. Then again I don't have a PS2 so the point is moot. I generally try and stay away from movie/tv series games, as they are almost always very pale ripoffs meant to sell only by their names. Anyone remembers Die Hard Nakatomi Plaza?

    X-Files > 24

    It looks quite nice in places the game but I along with people I know as big 24 fans know it's going to either be shite or just another generic shoot em' up. From the media it looks like it's trying to combine a lot of genres (ie looks like Max Payne/GTA style in some areas)

    After playing the demo, then reading the review on IGN, I can see that my fears from a long time ago when I first heard about the game were realized: great presentation for a PS2 game, weak weak gameplay with many problems.

    Too bad. Really too bad. Very few TV show to game conversions are good. Sad thing is that 24 could have been a great game. I may rent it just cause I like the show so much.

    I'm pretty certain it is actually between series 2 and 3 - the Palmer being poisoned and introduction of Chase era, in other words.

    I'm sure you could find a walkthrough on GameFAQs soon enough (if not already!) that covers the jist of it, but I wouldn't know where to look to get a script or anything.

    Haha yeah, me too. Well actually its because 24 is the only series that they actually show every week at the moment apart from Battlestar Galactica. Family Guy, Lost and Mythbusters constantly take these random breaks so you have no idea when to watch it (Or rather download it in my case).

    Anyway, thought of checking out the full demo~see if its worth anything

    Not that I want to go OT, but since we're talking about other series, you might wanna check Prison Break, the new Fox show. It's currently on a break until March 20th (iirc) and it's rather well done.

    Just couldn't get into prison break.

    Heard a lot of good things about Battlestar Galacticaigaiaackaktigica, but just haven't had time to cram that in my overstuffed TV consumption snackhole.

    LOST THE GAME PLS! Though if you put the music in it, and some of the chicks get naked :roll: i might be interested. Or if it had the story unfold in a cool way...with puzzles about the island, could be a cool adventure game but what a bitch to produce.

    Back on topic:

    24 demo came out 2 issues ago in OPM.

    Random fact about 24: In Season 3, Lynne Kresge (spelling?), personal advisor to president Palmer, is played by the same actress that played the voice of Dr Judith Mossman in HL2 (Michelle Forbes).

    What made me think of that you ask? Well she also stars in Prison Break.
