Well, here they are: http://%7boption%7d
I'm quite satisfied with the choices (Spielberg's films got 8 nominations ;D). I still don't understand why Batman Begins is nominated for best cinematography... sure it was good but Sin City, anyone???

I'm quite glad Fernando Meirelle's (brazilian director) The Constant Gardener got 4 nominations.
This is gonna be tough for me. I'm rooting for both Good Night, and Good Luck and Munich.

S. Actor: William Hurt (History of Violence)
S. Actress: Rachel Weisz

For the record, I think Brokeback is all hype and no follow through. Also, King Kong sucks, but it will get a bunch of tech awards because he's a pretty monkey.
Who I want to win:
Best Actor - Joaquin Phoenix/Heath Ledger
Supporting Actor - Jake Gyllenhaal
Art Direction - King Kong
Directing - Steven Spielberg
Music - Munich
Best Picture - Munich
who i want to win:
Philip Seymour Hoffman
Now I really want to see Munich! ![]()
Fletch, you're probably right about Brokeback Mountain beating Munich (remember Shakespear in Love vs. Saving Private Ryan)
The surprising lack of love for Walk the Line in this thread is fucking abysmal ![]()
I think Oscars are bullshit, they always pick the movies from the top of the box office, and give the movies like 15 nominations and bull crap like that.
I would LOVE if they actually had a wide range of movies, and I mean wide, like a hundred movies or so.
It seems like an easy pick when they give a nomination for one movie for lead actor, they just give the movie some other nomination just because it is already there so they don't have to look further.
Like why the hell hasn't anyone given Johnny Depp an Oscar? Not a single movie he has done deserves an Oscar? Not one?
Looks like I haven't seen any of this year's important movies ![]()
isn't paradise now nominated
, because that's an awsome movie
At the nominations they said Paradise Now is from the Palestinian authorities. But its dutch ![]()
the guys is palestinian, but he lived in holland for a while thats why he speakes dutch.
Quote from FletchI enjoyed Walk the Line, but copying the premise of Ray shouldn't get you awards.
Dude, they had a duet of "Time's a Wastin'" that was just fucking phenomenal. I thought Phoenix did an amazing job copying Cash's singing and movements on stage. It was almost creepy how well he did it.
Yeah, but now he's pulling a Jamie Foxx and going around performing as Cash at different venues (including playing at Fulsom). It's just kind of sad that this is the new Hollywood pasttime.
