hmm dunno they use some hl2 content. Models look to much like vanilla hl2 but slightly modified.

if the first 10 min are any idea of what we are going to be playing then we will spend a lot of time pulling levers and shooting exploding barrals

I'm not impressed, which is a shame as I was hoping for good things from this. I find it so hard to get excited about such generic looking combat - it does nothing to match the beautiful and action packed gunfights found in FEAR, or crazy over the top acrobatic fighting of Unreal Championship 2. It just looks like HL2, in a different universe, with most of the good stuff stripped out. And for the love of god let the SINGLE ENEMY VOICE be just placeholder, I couldn't take that shit from every bad guy I come across. I don't think they used much HL2 content but the stuff they did use stuck out like a sore thumb - most notably the item crate on the right hand side of a sewer type tunnel about half way through Some nice looking levels but some crap stuff in there too - the car looked utter balls to be honest, even with it's "openable bits", and what is with the weapon smacking animations looking so utterly poor?

Fair enough, the game isn't out yet and improvements can be made, but I didn't think it was too long before the first chapter hit?

Not a very impressive video for sure, but damnit I liked Sin, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this as well. Hopefully it will be a solid shooter overall.

Also, I wonder how much content you get from Valve if you buy the Source engine. Alot of the stuff looks like its taken directly from HL2, like the health recharger, the movement of the helicopter-thingy (looks just like the movement of the Combine gunship), burning barrels, headcrabs etc.

And wow, they sure like burning people at Ritual. I think this video sets a new record of people igniting.

It was pretty funny how you could open the trunk and pop the hood, but the door wasn't openable

Looks like Half-Life 2 graphics and gameplay but with some variations here and there.

I get this feeling that a professional dev team could do one hundred times better looking stuff.

Looks like Half-Life 2, not Sin. Really liked the Sin style back when it was released, still think its a good game too (when its patched up and works that is). Really sad to see them fuck it up like this.

is it just me or did they just rip the animations from DOG for that strang whitish creature ? along with a whole bunch of other animations, sequences etc

i dunno, its prolly fun enough as a shooter, but yeh imo doesnt have much to do with sin

I said the exact same thing to Mikey earlier today regarding DOG.

How come the guy has three hands in first peason view? Sometimes hes holding the gun with two hands and his second left hand makes other stuff

The game looks imo like hl2 produced in a parallel universe. Excellent quality for a mod but for a new game it looks too similar to hl2 for my taste.

The left hand isn't on the screen, it's a Ritual guy pointing and gesturing during the demonstration.

yea we watched the vid at work today, pritty much everyone thought it looked to much like hl2, in all honesty tho insurgency a mod team is creating 100% custom content, why couldnt ritual?

I might buy it, but is it worth it when we have hl2?
