    Hi everybody.

RD puts the Trigger on me to post this WIP here. The Car has a small Story. I build it 2Years & 2Months before as a lowpoly Model. Today i make a Rebuild of the Car in Highres.

U know Need 4 Speed Underground and Pimp my Ride. I want to Rebuild the Car like the Guys in Pimp my Ride. Big Stereo in the rear trunk and so on..

The Front, the Door, the Wheels, the Mirror are rebuild yet, the Rest is just the Lowpoly Model.

    Hope u like it.

    Thx Mazy!

But the horror has no ending. After coming back from my parents. I thought the time today for continue modeling on the car was not enough. So I start modeling the Enviroment for the Car.

Here is a earlier alpha state of the garage. No Global Illumination, No Final Gather Rendering or something like this. Just MaYa, Mental Ray and traditional lighting technics and a Occlusion Pass.

    Good Morning!

Thx Ferret! Read this. This is the best description. Occlusion or Ambient Occlusion is simular to the SkyLight u can find in MAX.

Ambient Occlusion simulates the diffuse sky shadows u have everywhere in the real world. Its a technic that used in the SFX Industry since a long time, used by ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) and many more.

Now, many Gamedevelopers used this technic to add realism to Lowpoly Models in there Textures. Means adding diffuse Shadows to the Texture.

    But read more here..

Looks very cool, allthough I am not a too big fan of this type of gfx, looks a bit blurry, which works well in motion (nfs, burnout) but on a still it's a bit dull.

Just my opinion, still amazing work!

jep, a little blur is not bad i think. coz the image gets more realistic, if its to sharpen its look to much CG. But a depth of field blur like this one is normal, coz of the camera focus.

it looks like a unsharp photo! that was the plan for this wip shot.
