Just posted a vid of some new areas I've reworked in my de_dam_facility (previously known as de_dam) map. Check it out if ya want. There's still plenty to finish before I release the beta2 but it's really coming along.

    http://www.sourceprefabs.com/upload/for ... _beta2.wmv

no cubemaps have been placed as well as the skybox.

The server isn't that slow and I can recommend you to load it down. It was worth my time.

The map looks like it's gonna blow every cs/css lover right out of his/her shoes! I love the look of most parts of the map and the overall quality is really satisfying.

Two points of feedback could be:

    - no sliding doors. They kinda look out of their place in such a scene;

    - Some (outsoor) props need a bigger fadedistance

    Nice map!

The thing i dont like is how some of the dam is clean as the day it was made and then the doors are looking like they have 90 years of rust on them. and maybe dont add music to these kind of videos.

thx for the feedback, that's a very good point. I'll see what I can do to make the feel more consistant.

Not much to add. It made me moist. It looks gut. Excellent detail. Maybe add a bit more variety to that sheet metal building. Have the lower levle concrete or soemthing? And HDR type plans?

This looked really good :] I do have some crits though :]

You should def. work more on your outside, I didnt see much of the cliffs, but the tiny bit i saw didnt look that good in comparison to the rest of the map..

Oh, and the movie downloaded at 400kb/s...

The office building needs much work. Currently, its just a oversized crate with 2 doors and some stuff inside. No one would work in such an office. Reduze the height and put much windows on it. Other parts are ok.

yeah, I had to put something in there since I haven't placed the soundscapes just yet. I chose the song I did based on the time of the vid and i think it kicks ass. I'll look into Hans and James thought. Oh wait.... I would never download music off the net ;) ha

I'll see what I can do to give those buildings a little more variety. I admit that I cheated a bit on the office building as I constructed them directly from some ref pics. I'm not sure about the HDR. I haven't messed with any of the HDR entities yet but maybe I'll toy around with em. you think i should make it HDR?

no doubt, I suck at displacement. I've struggled with that cliff since day one. I'd like to make a mesh in xsi or maya but I'm no good in either of those programs either know anyone that could/would help me out?

well there's a bunch of doors that go to other individual offices that are locked and not accessible and there's a bunch of windows I just didn't show any of the front areas in that vid. The upstairs is a little more open in the second building. Additionally I originally planned for roof access but I'm thinking that'll kill gameplay with awp whores so I'm scrapping the idea.

thx again for the feedback everyone

there arent hdr entities. you just compile in the hdr during rad after setting the HDR brightness on any lights you have. i think leavng them at -1 like the defaut is makes it the same as your normal though. but if you use the beta sdk you just check the hdr box when you compile.

good to know. I thought there was a HDR tonemap entity or something. Also what about the textures. I read somewhere that you need new textures.
