3 hours to beat. That is an hour for every year of development time.
Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows

so no good huh? what plaform? any screens?
-
I don't get it.

-
It's the same across all platforms. We played it on X-Box. It's very pretty, and there are like 2 hard spots in the game, but I think Mike was about to put a controller into the wall when it ended.
-
ROOOOOOOOMEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
-
bahaha
-
man...this is the Midway game, right?
they are out there pimping how clever their marketing was on a limited budget...to market a great game...
a very short game i guess.
-
Whenever I beat a short game, I get so mad I start punching things.
HL2 caused me to punch things.
-
Very frustrating when you hit the end of a game so quickly. Sometimes games can get away with it simply by being awesome (ie. Ico, PoP games, Conflict:* games in 4 player coop), but at other times you are just left completely unsatisfied. After just 3 hours, it would be bloody had to find "satisfaction" I reckon

I didn't really think HL2 was all that short - on par with most modern FPS's I'd say.
-
HL2 was really short huh?
-
I got through it in 10 hours and I thought I was taking it slow.
Of course, I find 8-12 hours to be the sweet spot for most games; only the occasional kotor or wow (or ratchet, now that I think about it) has me embracing 20-30+ (615,507,000+ in the case of wow) hours. So no complaints from me.
-
i played jade empire for like 20, but that was pure fun and runing around.
-
3 hours, Dark Legacy took a lot longer and was a whole lot more fun.
-
I don't mind that much about short games, if they are awesome.
But with 3 hours of gameplay, it should be cheap.
-
Zone of the Enders was 5 hours. I wasn't too happy with that.
-
-
Length of game doesn't really bother me, aslong as it's fun and when it ends feels right.
i'm making an adventure game, for free, i think it might last for about an hour ¬¬ takes me ~17 mins to run through it, skipping dialog etc
-
It was really more like an hour for each month of "real, on-track" development, due to several really fucked up management fiascos.
It's a renter.
-
it is an awesome rental, i had a ridiculously fun three hours.
then i realized that cost me 50 bucks
and i became sad.
-
The Environmental Art is great though.....
