It looks alright on medium distance, but up close oh boy...a pitty because the rest of the level looks pretty nifty!

Can you not have them as non interactive models so it's not testing them for collisions or whatever?

Failing that, put them in cabinets or something. Just looks shoddy at the moment.

looks great alex, if you wanna keep that texture for the bottles in the cabinet I have a suggestion you might try. Just put some semi transparent glass in the cabinets to make them less noticable if you are worried about performance. Could even add some in cabinet lighting to spice it up. Just play around with it im sure you will figure something out.

Non-breakable bottles which are models really dont look right..

Its already 1024x512 and ~600kb, so any higher would be ~1mb and thats too big.

Ill try putting glass over the front, but i think itll end up looking worse. As for more lights, i dont think it would be possible to fit it in that small a space..

if you dont have room, just make func_detail cabinet door cover frames with class in the center and place them on the outside. Another option would be to just close all but one or two of the cabinets with solid doors and then use models in the open one.

They arent cabinets, though.. But there is already a light facing each rack, so theres enough of it. Im trying to make the bottles look better, so hopefully i can do it.

That is so much better, is that the same resolution? The old one was really blurry.

Its actually a smaller resolution (previous was 1024x512, current one is 1024x256), but more of the image is of the bottles and theres less empty space. The old one was incredibly jagged, so this one fixed that. As for the filesize, it dropped by 200kb which is good

Looks better indeed, I think unless you are standing right up on them you wont notice, or have time to being shot at so bleh, nice work.

maybe you can shave off the black outlines on the bottles.

And the wood grain looks blurry.

    Looks way better btw.

I tried getting rid of the outlines before, but it causes really jagged edges ( http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/5449 ... 0041la.jpg ), so the black line had to stay in order to keep the smoothness. Really isnt noticable unless you stop and stare at it.

On another note, the strippers are getting better and better each day thanks to Caleb, and once theyre done, the map should be ready to release.

what do you predict the file size to be once everything is bspzipped up? I know thats the biggest beef with alot of admins who run servers, they dont like super large file sizes even with bspzip fast downloads.

Im trying to keep it ~40mb with everything in, but it looks like itll hit ~50mb.

The current version is 51mb, but when its zipped its less than 17mb. If only more people used .bz2... All the custom stuff really adds up. The strippers alone will be around 4-5mb.
