Sharkbait.

    But its a picture that confirm that puppies has been used as sharkbait.

    The dog has probably been dragged after rhe boat with a steal wire.

    Some how it got loose and picked up.

    This has happened on an island called Reunion where it is said they use homeless dogs and maybe cats for sharkbait.

    It belongs to France and is located in (lets see if i can get this right?) Indian Pacific (thats what it is in Swedish anyway, Indiska Oceanen) east of Madagaskar

    The incident is reported to Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

    One man has been arrested for it.

    The french ambassy has promissed gloves off against this barbaric way of fishing.

    If you feel sorry for dogs being used as bait, you should also be against using fish as bait for sharks.

    I see nothing wrong with this, but it seems people hate it because they see dogs as more "human" than other animals which are used as bait around the world.

    My heart dropped alone seeing that photo. The human mind finds more of a relation towards dogs for their superior intelligence than a fish would. A goldfish has a memory that is cleared every three seconds, we find a bond with dogs. So yeah, petition signed.

    because dogs are domestic animals, they arent self sufficient. They rely on humans to live

    i wouldn't really care except that the dog is *alive* being dragged along behind a boat with a hook in its gums, waiting to be eaten alive by a shark. why couldn't they at least kill the poor bugger first, humanely.

    Erm, so what? That's not a valued excuse to me. I've eaten deer, ostratch, duck, chicken, moose, elk, caribou, cow, pig, etc etc. but I still object to seeing them with a metal hook inside their mouths being dragged around cruely to their deaths.

    Lots of animals are treated cruely before they die. Also, animals are killed in brutal ways every day (dont make me go PETA here). Frankly, i just dont care. Thousands of people are dying every day in the world, but i doubt anyone here is doing anything to stop it. Signing an online petition is the least you could do to stop something like this.
