Level Designer Wanted at Top Developer

    Southwest Game development studio is searching for the best and brightest game developers to share there vision of creating a new world of entertainment through the power of technology, imagination and innovation. Creating quality games requires top production values in all aspects of a game, from design, technology and art to professional music, voice acting, and high performance multi-player action. To achieve this excellence requires the focused efforts of top talent in a fun, productive environment

    Genres: First Person Shooter & Action Sports Title & Action Adventure Title after a major movie license.

    Platform: Next Generation Console

    DESIGNER (LEVEL)

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

    • 3+ years game industry or related design experience

    • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, prefer at least one commercial title shipped.

    • Experience with level editing tools (Quake, Unreal, etc.) is required

    • Experience in other 3D modeling programs (3DSMax, Maya) a plus

    • Must be able to develop architecture from photo reference, and texture map detailed environments

    • Should be able to design and develop game-play for both single and multiplayer

    Reqs like this makes me sad. Also, those of us that can actually fill that req have a job.

    You're right. Such requirements do really suck. Why don't companies just judge by the portfolio? I mean it's not like that there are sooo many unemployed game designer out there.

    They always require experience but if you have a strong portfolio they manage to hire you. Many people here got hired at top studios even without any professional experience.
