    http://%7boption%7d

    1) The map

    2) The bullet holes in cars

    3) The Heli model

    4) The good looking explosions (yes i know its CGI)

    5) The HUD on the bazookas or tanks or whatever

I'm not saying the current bf2 is bad or anything, but its quite funny how they advertise it.

    6) why does the jet pilot say "target in sight... SIERRA HOTEL!" when he destroys the tank?

Thats a pretty old trailer (first one released if I remember correctly), they were probably still toying around with alot of ideas for balancing like black hawks with missles and such. And the map is basically made up of the default middle eastern building meshes thats in the final game. Looks like a variation of Mashtuur (with the mosque n stuff).

But the most interesting thing about that trailer is that the cars on the street dont look totally wrecked, they look drivable (ala Desert Combat).

That apparently something they're doing for the Special Operations addon, would've been nice in regular BF2 :G

Btw there goes my 2000th post

The physics are still a lot cooler in that trailer.

Mostly for the same reasons they say things like "Tango thirteen" even tho they are not dancing tango.

yeah, they said in a press conference that they where going to have civilian vehicles on the battlefield that you could drive, but it never happened. . would be cool if it got in special ops.

Oooh, how much I love Operation Flashpoint, that game was so pimp! I'd like to see something similar on BF2, that the battlefields actually look like towns that PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIVE IN, and not those "shooting range" style villages and such that populate BF2, it looks like they are fighting on places that have been deserted for good 20 years or something, no signs that there were people before the war started what so ever.

the lightmap scale is lower in the real game, even with highest settings i hate when game companies do that kind of shit in their trailers

If you look at a lot of the earlier screenshots of BF2 it appears to look much better than the released game. I think what happened was Dice was expecting to release an awesome game about a year from now, however EA being their publisher quickly shut that down, made the game crappier so it can run on more current machines and so they can ship it as soon as possible.
