I also got this ingame (oldish model):

I think it needs a normal and a spec map. It does not look very realistic without bumpiness.

I have been working again on my Tmp_lodge map . I drew a small squigly design for these chairs on my note pad and this is the way they came out.

    regular version

I actually used this skin on about 8 different models already . It's a very helpfull skin.

    *yawn* bedtime

since there's holidays now, i finally have the time to quickly texture these models for the dm map of a buddy of mine. since the map is quite dark, nobody will see the texturing issues

    lucky me \o/

I like the design generalvivi, looks comfy And CyanideCotdPnuts, your skin is really coming along now and it's a nice model too.

I had a rough time making my mind up where to post this but it ended up here. The reason for this is that I'm not really a modeler (heh, this model is done in MilkShape3D, does that even count? ); the model is more for experimenting with the textures I'm working with. The diffuse map is not very interesting but I've been fiddling with new normal mapping techniques that produces photo-realistic results. Now, this render is very cheap but I think it shows off the normal map pretty well (bare in mind that this is a rather low poly model). When I'm happy with the textures I will start with making a subsurface scattering shader for it to make it look a bit more true to reality.

(Don't mind the forehead, hair will go there eventually)

And part of the normal map:

    [Blocked Image: http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/5993/partofthenormalmaplk2.jpg]

It's [the overall result] in pretty early stages right now (still not remarkably photo realistic) but I think it's coming along. I'll post updates when I have them and if people are interested

Yes, basically I am however developing a normal mapping tripod that I use with a fixated camera and rotatable strong but intentisity-adjustable light source for optimal results (saves alot of editing time later). And thanks!

its a good way of doing it. You did an amazing job applying it to the face mesh. I love it. Diffuse is really stronger. Might try to do something with the larger pores, but other than that its sweet.

a stupid couch I did. The pillows would be a angled more and not rigid ingame with physics. But yeah. I might normal map the corners of the pillows to emphasize it, but dunno.

I dont see the first image which is strange but your couch, its so wierd! I see a cross between material or cement, it just keeps switching back and forth.
