Very nice brushwork there looking really nice, but inded add colour scemes (lighting?) or texture variation if only for player aiding, since like this alot of hallways and areas will look alike to the players running through them, and so they will probarbly get lost.

some early shots of the hallways connecting the lower to the upper parts of the map *i wont add any more i promise  *

i felt they where really needed because i realised this wont just be played like i do, for instance not everyone enjoyce low grav and such....

further down i made the last part of the 3dskybox and in the last pic i changed the layout of the map 2 because of gameplay reasons.

got a few more layout changes not shown here but theyre not quite ready to show just yet.

sorry for the last pics not being ingame i dont really have the time to compile too often.

also in reply to ferret: normals are in the works im trying to diversify the rock texture by using multiple normals for the same texture gives it a subtle difference in it throughout the map.

about the color schemes im stil looking for ut's dm_gothic alike lamps to place in the map to replace some of the torches

crits en comments are very much apreciated.

imo the brick walls are really out of place in those caves for support.. beams would do much better imho, maybe some nice models even ^^

i mean the arches don't look bad but they seem out of place. and the walls do both

could try to hang some banners around .. those huge-ass ones

I don't buy any of those rocks frankly - the outside rocks you could get away with but the ones inside are waaay too smooth and perfect.

    The cave is too dark.

    Can't. See. Shit.

    Hey,

I love it. The roofs of the buildings that merge into the rock wall could use something on top of that (not nessecarily enterable) like towers of some sort. Maybe make the lighting in the caves more orange and a little brighter??

Here some radical suggestion: the rocks would make a more massive impression if they were darker. Maybe make them darker? I'm also pretty sure that there's somebody willing to help you out on a custom texture. That would change the whole look of the map alltough I'm not quite sure if that's a good thing.

Very nice. I think it would benefit from a bit of contrast in the lighting, maybe have the dark areas (shielded from the moonlight) as the current env light colour and the exposed areas caught in a brighter moon light? The skybox moon just seems so large and bright to me for the light it is actually casting.

Wow! I really like the ambience of this map! It's beautiful! Not a lot of thing to say...lol...perhaps you can add some nature in it?

Do a blend texture on the rocks and use a more "rock like" texture - at the moment it looks a bit more like dirt. Use the current one on the floor and then for the rest use a different texture that's more instantly identifiable as rock (look at the HL2 ones). I'd also recommend manually modifying the inside rock, because at the moment it's clipping with the brick supports (and the brick supports would be built after, surely, so there shouldn't be rock going into them!)

Otherwise, the map is great (very UT-ish).

wow great mood! now just adjust the colour of the lighting to the skybox (or the other way round) and make the skylight a bit brighter so you get more contrast in the map itself.

is that for hl2dm? cant wait to give it a try.

Looks very nice I like dark and moody. Highlighting some of the rock with the moonlight would be some yummy icing on the cake

Hey stranger! Life is going well back home?

    Lighting is kinda.. ...dull

Don't make the mistake of confusing moody with boring. Add a little blue in there, the moonlight plus the orange flames would be an appropriate balance.
