    First post

Released a texture pack called Cliff PAK 1 2005 a couple days ago on various sites, thought I do it here to since I found the page.

The pak contains, three different cliff textures and two variations of them each, making a total of six textrures. Two grass texures, just two different colors to fit with the cliffs. Of course did I make normal maps to go with these.

They ship as TGAs and can be converted to any game you want, demo pics are from HL2 since its a great game for landscapes.

Yeah, that's great stuff. I really like the second display pics, very sexy, almost feels like I am at the Drakensburg again.

Hey man, suggestion for your next texture release: Please have the textures in .VTF format and also make sure you add .VMT's to all the textures. TGA format does not work with HL2.

They look pretty good! Judging from the pics I don't think the normal map adds a lot to the textures just as someone else also said.

Ah I think he knows, he's offering these up for any game but just used HL2 as an example.

TGA is the best format for them if you ask me - nice and easy to get them into any game. Then again, providing your example VMT's and VTF's would keep people unfamiliar with compiling HL2 textures happy, and the "tricky" part (the VMT's) won't exactly bump up the distro file size given they are just some simple txt files. Thanks for sharing these, I'm sure they will be very well used given that HL2's choice of cliff textures isn't particularly wide. Welcome to mapcore

someone from mapcore should take the textures and fix them up with vmts and vmfs or what ever and redistribute, if its ok with the author of course

Are there normal maps? I can't tell, I doubt it.
