    If you mail me your harddrive, I can do a data recovery on it. No joke. As much as I hate you, Nexus, I will do this favor for you since I know how much loosing a map sucks. Anyway, if you're interested, PM me.

    I lost most of my TS stuff. Remade some of it with hte result that the maps in question were a shitload better, but with some of them it was just too much effort.

    Tough break man but these guys tell the truth, I've also had the same thing happen (twice no less) and once you get over all the work you've lost you start producing much better work.

    I always say I'll backup my work and I never do, it's a risky game to play.

    Hmm didn't you say you lost the 3rd party FF maps you were working on, too? Backup that stuff, mang! Lightning strikes like 18 times, in the face.

    I didn't think my HD will crash, but it happen. So here is the story:

    I found a harddrive and it looked new. Well i put it in my Pc and i see it looks good to have 2 hds. I connected em both - the old harddrive with my Windows and the new harddrive. Taking a look if everything is connected as the supply cabel the one wich electricity and the IDe buss cabel with 50 pins that gives harddrive information from motherboard.

    Starting my pc... and nothing happends! The monitor tells "no signal".

    After 1 hour i'm testing to switch the power supply cabels to my Hd but nothing happends so i decide to turn off the cabel from the new Hd i found and i remove it from my pc. I connect everything back on the places like before i put the new hd.. But this time the pc is fucked up.

    It wont start again to work.. No signal, nothing and no sounds.

    I call the Pc store, i talk with the master.. He says my Harddrive must crashed because the motherboard wont work too. All problems are over with the pc i gotta buy a new Hd. I am sad over this and i lost my work and my maps..

    Ive lost half done maps because of crashing HDs, but never one quite as far as your map. It is alot worse than the loss of the mere hardware. You truely have my sympathies.

    I have four hard drives, one external one, plus a leet surge protector and a backup battery supply thing. I've never had any of my hard drives chrash.

    Thats just typical isn't it. Its like when you feel like you are gonna spew so you run to a toilet, and its only when you leave the toilet later on that you are actually sick. Bad shit seems to happen when you aren't prepared for it, and when you are prepared it puts itself on hold.

    i lost dam a year long project from 2 backups being corrupt at the same time lol. lucky i had the last full compile on my hd tho

    All you can do in such situations is either rebuild it again which you will do better or treat it as time well spent learning the tools

    This MAP IS NOT DEAD, THIS MAP IS MINE!


    I mean.. I'm going to start working on it again from the ground..

    I got the layout on a paper..


    This time my boys it's named cs_detroit


    edit: I got 2 harddrives so 2 cant crash? Oh.. by the way if you feel to post a pic of detroit suburbs/facilities/houses/carparks or some factory do it.

    Just remember ! WHen I do my projects they can mislead to random mistakes and can be removed of some way.

    But now I've told allready I have backup, 2 hd's and all so its impossible.

    HERE IS THE NEW MAP !

    The map will be about the west-side battlin with east-side from LA, COMPTON;

    all rappers will be modelled and mino is making allready plaqs, I have music ready for the UNDERGROUND BAR/CAFE/SCENE

    THe skybox will be as in hl2 but the big renecannse office will be like the citadel and the downtown will be big so expect some lagg in some areas in the first beta.

    WE NEED MORE CRACK, DOPEHOUSE AND GHETTO TERRORIST MAPS.

    I've playing before a map called cs_dopehouse it was like a exciting trip in real life. Police snipers finally got me under the bed while i was hiding.

    oh yes, bombplace 1 will be in the underground, bombplace 2 will be in a liquid store.

    Have you some good FEEDBACK; IDEAS to share with do it here please before i go and make a new thread when time has come to show the pics.
