Edit: nm, don't bother I remembered this one now, sending a laser pulse in atomic cesium gas can acheive a group velocity higher then the speed of light "c". I think both phase and group velocity can reach speeds over c but no individual energy or information actually travels faster than c.
Not sure if Tachyons are proved to exist but they sure mess things up, though in those scientific domains most stuff are still shady at best because of the limitations of measurement. Almost everyhing at that level is derived from theoretical mathematics. The actual experiments are way too difficult and even when done the data gathered can only be processed with theoretical mathematics. Guess where that leaves us?
