    I decided to release all my Half-Life maps as open source files. That means you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you give me proper credits. The pack includes:

    * 15 .rmfs, including CO_PARAGON, TS_SHADY, DM_FETID, SW_COLDSTONE and many more...

    * 181 custom made textures

    * Many custom made skyboxes, models and sprite

    * .rad files

    If you can support me with a mirror Id very thankful.

    If I still had HL1 Hammer up and running I'd check this love out. Instead, I'll just admire from a distance, nodding my head to the Brazilian beat.

    Kudos for releasing the maps, I'm sure some people will find it very helpfull. Are you continuing mapping for HL2 or another engine?

    Well who knows, I getting tired of mapping and gaming more and more these days. Maybe when I get HL2. Yeah I dont have money to afford the expensive computer parts they sell in this country. Maybe that's the reason I dunno.

    What really pisses me off about game development in general is that its increasingly getting souless each day. I havent played a game with "soul" since psx.

    These new game devs are getting into it for the money instead of the passion. Besides that, considering that making a game for the new gen will be extremely expensive, only the strong franchises (I hate this word) will have a good chance to be succesful. That means many cool companies will go bankrupt and only the stronger ones like EA, microsoft, nintendo, etc etc will survive and monopolize everything. There's always some new part to buy, goddamn it, I hate having to upgrade stuff in a short period of time.

    Most of the mappers are selfish, they dont enjoy sharing their knowledge and "secrets" and many think too superior of themselves, like if they were gods or something. Only a few people are like that here in mapcore but its pretty much like that in other communities. And last but not least I'm not sure I wanna keep working on stuff that will be obsolette in 2 months (or less) after the release.

    The good part of having "wasted" my past 3 years on mapping is that I made a lot of good friends. Artistic wise I learned lots about observation, color usage and specially how to use photoshop and 3d studio max. I also learned to accept critics and then get stronger with them.

    Will this is not a goodbye thing but all this shit have been inside me for quite a long time, I had to say it.

    I understand what you mean mino. I can agree to some point. It's a shame. But as long as there every now and then comes extremly nice games I'm still happy. But it will probably take very long till I can play a single player game that catches my interest as Half-Life did.

    I can only hope you will continue, if not mapping, at least modelling. You got some serious talent and a really good eye for artistic stuff.

    Strangely, some work, some just give me an error.

    Oh and just read your post. Stay with us, Mino.

    Don't be too down, stuff like Sin and its episodic style, if it works, and I pray it does, would help destroy such monopolies by lettting any developer get it on distribution with a fraction of the overhead.
