Hmmm, very interesting~~although most likely fake (although Rockstars "No Comment" might lead me to think otherwise), then its still a cool idea, and surely what fans have been waiting for. Also the fuel thing sounds pretty cool, although that might hint that they're going for a tiny bit more realism, perhaps.

Anyway I cant help but get excited about anything related to GTA

I'd prefer that too, although I wouldnt mind an MMO either. However it could be possible that they made an MMO that actually have the feel of a singleplayer game, where you completed missions n got cutscenes n stuff like that.

I just dont hope they go too realistic with it, would mean it would get even more attacked in the media n rockstar would be sued to death and there wouldnt be any more gta games AGRRRGH!H!! :G

The article has been updated saying that Rockstar has completely denied it is anything of theirs, so I guess thats the end of that. An MMO GTA certainly has potential, but I think it would have to be heavily segmented into servers as having too many lunatics running the game's streets would ruin it. Battlefield style 64-128 people games could work, but thousands would just be insane.

Visually I don´t see that screenshot being a "Next Gen" screenshot after seeing some of the upcoming games for ps3 and xbox 360.

You mean the trailers you've seen from next gen games

But yeah, visually it isnt much of a treat, but its fake anyway so who cares

But besides that, then GTA's graphics has always been about scale, not about details.

Screenshot or not , a GTA MMO would be awesome, a totally different setting compared to other MMO-games. The term for Guilds, Clans, or Outfits (Planetside) would be "Gangs".

    What gang are you in?

    LOLpatrol

    lmao

Drivebys, style your car in bodyshops, large scale cities and landscapes, be able to buy an appartment, and pretty much everything else you can do in the GTA-series O_o

Im actualy wait for a MMO GTA. Singleplayer is nice but that was yesterday. Im not able to enjoy a sp game since i know the experience of multiplayer games. It feels so fake to interact with NPC's...

I'm the opposite. A good singleplayer game has the same impact as a good film, and it many cases the enjoyable qualities in both overlap. It's a fantastic journey into fantasy, and it creates memories to be cherished.

Multiplayer on the other hand is like a sport. Low on the memorable moments, high on pure fun, but it works best in small sessions to prevent repetition setting in.

I think that a MMO GTA would be cool. GTA already got the big living worlds, so it would fit.

Would be cool if the when you get to a certain level you can recruit lower level players to do missions for you with various criteria etc. Becoming a mob boss or whatever would be awesome. AN additional fuck around 64 player gang warfare mode would be cool as well.
