The peoples game company (yeah I like The Rock analogies) has an impressive array of open jobs at it's pages.

They range all the way from console artist and game designers to programmers and in-game staff for WoW. I'm pretty sure that Blizz won't hire people just to sit around, and after blizz bought Swingin' Ape the developer of Starcraft: Ghost I don't think they did it just to see the development of this game through, but they are clearly as interested on next-gen consoles are are the other developers, who knows, maybe we will see WoW going to consoles to further the insane 2million subscribers currently roaming the Lands of Azeroth.

Something is definedly happening since a plethora of job openings are on Bliz Norht offices, and they are known for making the Diablo series, so maybe something yum yum for the Diablo freaks out there, so STAY SHARP PEOPLE!

Blizzard does indeed have something big underway. I have also followed the massive openings of jobs which started in the beginning 2005.

They do have both Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 to make, so it is kinda logical that they want a lot of people. Personally I hope for SC2 as SC:BW is one of the best RTS games ever.

if i could choose which game they could make it would have to be

starcraft 2...i mean the first one still has fans, and its such a great game

diablo 2 is still doing just fine as far as i know, but but sc is older

Yeah well PC Starcraft game is way over due, but knowing how story oriented company Blizz is we'd have to see how Ghost unravels. But something shocking is underway I'm positive of it, and the story goes that few of the teams have been "inactive" after WoW was released so they have got all this time to do Starcraft2/Diablo3 pre-production. Every time I hear a rustle from either Blizzards or Relics direction my ears and eyes are peeled on them like a hawk, with binocuolars and one of those spy distance listening thingies.

A World of Starcraft MMO would probably be what makes me start playing those kind of games.

Anything Blizz can toss at me this point, another warcraft game, starcraft game or diablo game I'm so game. Blizzard just takes so long to make the games, and I'm hoping that I misread the signs I have been spotting, Ghost being 3rd person action shooter, wow being a 3rd person mmorpg, if diablo is their next game they start to make, it is action adventure. Are they going to leave the RTS games behind (or alternatively make them really rare).

But like I said, at this point, Blizz can't do a game I'm disappointed.

its funny with ghost, first i hated the fact that they werent doing a new starcraft rts, so i just hated it. Then I started sorta liking their direction, of making some action and perhaps more context to the starcraft universe. But after this last E3, and it not looking very good, actually it looks crap, then i really want a rts again

But it isnt even really blizzard thats doing it so hmh

They probably got a shitload of new cool project going on~

Mazy I think you are one of those bling bling people

For me, the love for Blizz games comes from the fact that they don't make their games by the latest hot graphics like other companies do, they make their own thing and I can't really tell if there is any other developer left to do that, every other developer has gone with the add-sugar-to bandwagon, with companies like Epic and Valve.

Yeah, watching the screens makes me really hope that they'd round up the WoW texture artists and make the textures again for the ghost since they are really low resolution. But the cartoony/painted looking style is what I admire in Blizzards games. And they are propably only company that has said "fuck the graphics, we make stories" I guess they realize that people still reade books

The weirdest thing is that why haven't other companies noticed this? I mean is there anyone, anyone at all that doesn't like any of Blizzards games? And not a single person mentions "they have so awesome graphics" but they all praise blizzards innovative gameplay and stories.

If my plans to start my own development studio won't fail, I'm going to do it just like Blizz and focuse on the story and other elements than the fucking graphics, I hate graphics and that is bad thing since I'm a graphic artist.

Dammit, the best games on my list still are Warcraft series, Zelda series and Super Mario series. And I hope that ignorant and imaginationless people who wet their panties for Gears of War or UT2007 don't destroy Blizz by forcing them to hop in the bling bling plane to sucky games land.

Sorry, rant was not directed to anyone specific, just to all of us gamers, me including.

Allthough, both Zelda and mario series have been somewhat stunning when it comes to GFX, when released ~~

I never played any of Blizzards games, I may buy WOW sometime, if I get a job soon that is.

    Quote from Pericolos0

kosmo i agree with you but what i'm really waiting for is a dev who uses the new bling bling graphic features to create a really original distinct style. HL2 partially did this, the source engine is alot different from other nextgen engines and the game has a distinct style, and i hope we'll see something similar but better for ghost I want to see what awesome stuff blizzard will do with new technologies.

It would be cool to see a distinctive style like Blizz has but used in the next-gen style, somehow I feel that Doom3 did kinda something like that, but in many ways they went over board and HL2 was a great game, but only once, I really loved the story and gameplay mechanics, but I just can't get myself around to play it again.

But what makes Blizz so magnificent compared to the other developers like Valve and their HL series, Blizz just has made their worlds so alive and deep, I got Warcraft books and RPGs and all the games and I completely love the warcraft universe, it is so well rounded and the possibilities are endless, the amount of story in HL (and it's expansions) and HL2 are nothing compared to warcraft, but then again, action games must sacrifice the story element bit for the action element, you just can't make it so story driven like RTS can be or it will strip down the players effect on the surroundings. So I understand why many games don't have deep storylines, they have to maintain the illusion of player made decisions even tho everything is predetermined.
