Look at the first post and tell me this is a brag thread. I want to know what to upgrade, memory, gfx or cpu. What better way to know, then to compare stats. Looks like memory is a big player here.

well duh, you gotta upgrade your video card.

as long as you have a decent processor and abundant ram, video card is

really what determines how well your comp will play games

correct me if im wrong here

It is. You'll want a gb of fast RAM, really.

Doesn't matter how fast your video card is. BF2 takes a lot of information and stores it in memory cache. If you dont have enough it has to access your harddrive a shit ton causing slowdowns. Graphic Cards important? Yes. Memory equaly if not more important? Definatley. IMHO

Duh, how would I know if I had "abundant" ram unless I asked around to see how other systems with more ram are running?

    << I need some ram

RAM is so cheap just now that for what little it will set you back, you might as well upgrade to 1gb. Any more is overkill for gaming and I doubt you'd notice any sort of performance increase going beyond it.

Dont tell anyone, but my motherboard is really old and doesnt support DDR400, so if I was to get new ram I would want faster stuff and then I have to get a new motherboard and then it becomes a hassel.

Does it support DDR though Jynx? If so just buy the fastest you plan on needing in the near future - I'm pretty certain its all backwards compatible and will work at the maximum speed your motherboard/cpu combo can handle.
