the game feels very solid, although there are some elements of bf 1942
that remain, such as the jumpy feeling you get when you climb or go down
ladders...great demo though and runs well on medium systems
-
1942 was better

i downloaded it in 20mins
Got sum graphical bug (floor randomly covers with dark/shadow squares) and i cant seem to create an online account. I just waited 10 mins when it said creating account and nothing happened, and then i tried again but my email adresses are now already registered so i cant create an account anymore. Am i supposed to wait longer than 10mins?
And about the game, the map is really small and it seems i cant hit anything with any weapon except the snipergun. Even going prone with the machinegun its still almost impossible to hit anything beyond 10ft away =(

All things you just described are totally unfamiliar to me

-
Seems like a common graphic bug : http://www.shatteredminds.net/skit/chromerock.avi
Happens like all the time

-
I got the bug too, I managed to get rid of it by turning dynamic lighting/shadows off, though. I would have anyway, since my RAM cannot carry this game properly.

Know exacly what youre talking about, its like my bullets vanish in thin air beyond 10 meter except with the sniper rifle.
You would think lying prone on top op a wagon shooting single rounds would hit the enemy comming straight to you.

I just read that the drivers for nividia cards which come with the demo fix that shadow bug, I will check later if that is actually the case.
I had the same problems yesterday with creating an account, the account servers really seemed to be overloaded

Oh and try the 64 players version of the map, it's much bigger.

meeh my gfx card cant run it

Yeah, I did a little research of my own and it fits in with what FrieChamp said.
The Nvidia drivers which come with BF2 are in actual fact brand new, far more recent than those available right now from Nvdia's own website. BF2 comes with 77.30 (June 9th 2005), whilst the official site lists 71.89 (April 1st 2005). Guru3d.com has had the 77.xx driver series on their website for a short while because it was leaked from Nvidia's press site. I can only assume that these drivers are totally tailored for BF2, considering that Nvidia are also sponsoring the game.
So, yeah. Install the driver which comes with BF2 (making sure to uninstall your existing one first in add/remove programs!!). You can also conveniently grab the driver here, which might I add is an excellent site for getting beta/upcoming drivers before Nvidia release them. Often, Nvidia never release a lot of their drivers officially and just compile them into one "big fix" driver release every few months. I install most of these beta drivers, and they very rarely have any problems, and yet continually fix a lot of game specific bugs.
On a side note, these latest drivers supposedly reduce a series 6 Nvidia card's running temperature by 10 degrees.

I have to say, I very rarely have problems hitting people when I'm shooting people with the special forces weapon. I've often hit people easily on the top of that big crane whilst proned on the ground after about 6 seconds of burst firing (VERY IMPORTANT IN BF2).
However, I sometimes get what I can only assume is a bug with my special forces weapon where it will only fire in semi automatic mode. Is this some bind I'm accidentally hitting, or some crazy bug?

only real bug ive noticed so far is that some of the M1A1's are checkered with fruity colors. besides that everything is peachy
