I have a Radeon 9800 Pro, and I have had no problems with it, and all my drivers worked fine.

This morning I get pop-ups about outdates drivers, so I say, oh okay. I download the new 5.6 catalyst driver, and then my computer just goes fucking nuts. It won't reboot, its randomly shutting down. So I reboot into safe mod, uninstall every ATI Program I had (ATI Software said to do this) and then re-downloaded 5.6

So I install it, then its going all idiotic again where I can't get running in normal mode.

Anyone else had a problem? Help!

I had the same problem when I tried to install Omega drivers. Haven't touched those bastards again...

BTW have you installed .Net Framework which is required to install the CC?

I just uninstalled everything, even the device manager for Radeon 9800 PRO.

So I am runnin in Safe mode, and I never did CC insallation. I tried Omega, it worked for a run, then I restarted, and it wouldn't load windows.

I tried, I installed.

Sometimes I'm really happy I never touch video driver updates...

After one of those updates messed up my system I usually only got things to work again after a C:\ format...

Windows XP system recovery is flimsy at best, they MS can't do a notepad that doesn't crash so how they can do something as complex as system recovery?

But enough of MS and their capabilities, I have never ever had problems with Ati drivers apart from the problem involving nForce drivers and Ati drivers, and that shit was nVidiots fault.

5.6 = nice, some games feel smoother Doom3 is said to give 7-10% boost This driver release was to boost performance more than anything else.

Umh, I ain't updating. Somehow I still feel like I did a mistake when I updated my GF3 to R9800 pro..that card was the best piece of hardware I have ever bought. Next time I'll go with nvidia, this ati thingy ain't gonna cut it.
