    Update: No longer working on this map as of september. I may continue working on it some time after the contest.


    My contest map will be set on a hill with a cable car station.

    Bombsite A will take place inside the station, while B will be under a huge tent housing an ancient ruins exhibition.

    The layout is very much a WIP and not ready for playtests yet, but hopefully it will be soon. Some screenshots below:

    You should post a video/tutorial of painting the displacement mountains like that ;)

    Those are nothing special really, I just made a flat grid of 512x512 displacements and painted some geometry on Z axis.

    It just looks way too cool. Man, I think I already have 0 chance...

    I wanted to make a unique map, but I just can't balance it good enough. But you just made a map, that is so god damn original, and I can see it's very fun, from the screenshots...

    @Ynel Don't worry, the dust 2 graybox would look like dogshit today. Focus on gameplay, polish, and "exoticity".

    Layout update:

    • Shrinked the map to a more reasonable size.
    • Moved A split closer to the bombsite entrances.
    • Second B entry is now only connected to mid.
    • Added more cover to both bombsites.
    • Added a back path for CTs to bombsite B.
    • Blocked some sightlines around T spawn.

    @H1PP0P0T4MU5 Just focus on gameplay and scale. Make sure you don't have insane sightlines. Change based on feedback. Only start detailing and texturing after you finish the layout and know what everything will be. You got this
