Name: de_bravo (may change depending on feedback)

Macro Theme: U.S. army base on an island that contains artillery cannons and bunkers left over from WWI.

Micro themes: A is an underground data center core. B is an artillery bunker being retrofitted with modern technology The central route is half above ground and half under ground.

    Goals:

    • Intuitive layout
    • Excellent readability
    • Green vibes
    • Receding waves at CT spawn (potentially difficult effect)

    Landmark Features:

    • Short flak towers on A approach
    • Rocks at CT beach
    • Plane crashed at T spawn
    • Lookout tower

    Artillery section reference photos:

    Data center refrences:

The left most path will act as middle #1, giving an option to get to A quickly and B a little more slowly. The central path will be the second middle, giving attackers a quick route to B and a slower one to A, the inverse of the first middle. Here is the basic flow:

T's are closer to B than CT's, so every round is going to be a B rush.

It looks like that, but I bet that it would be on a different floor.

@Shima33 thank you for the insight. Even though this flow was not to scale it created problems when I drew it out, so I shortened the horizontal passages in the middle putting B closer to CT's. Everything should work out now, and the graybox will be posted in 3 or 4 days.

Here is most of the map drawn out. I had to omit B (separate sheet XD), but I guarantee its interesting!

WOW, that is very detailed and very different approach to draw maps! I alway draw it really small and just the basic layout, because I make the detailing and all those thing in hammer after grayboxing the simple drawing. Its interesting to see such a different approach :D

@TECHNICKER I guess I am really ocd, but I also want to make sure that I can include the angled walls and stuff from the start to give it the feel I want. Also I get brainblocked in the editor! Here are a few refs that I will use for the data bunker :

That third picture looks just like one of the bombsites in de_biome. Maybe they used the same ref picture XD

@That50'sGuy Pretty much what I was thinking. They seem to have extracted the glass office and rock walls, but not the triquetra-like shape I will use.

Can't really tell much from the drawing, but in any case looking forward to the greybox!

@Freaky_Banana Might as well copy what I posted in W.I.P here: The center of the site is sunken in and I did circle stair clipping! Regaurdless, the site is almost done and I pretty much just need to make the B approach for T's, the middle, and extend CT.

I feel like that an abandoned cryptocurrency mining centre is a better theme as it is more diverse than an a boring data centre, while also is exotic/unique.

@lewiis Have no fear it is a matter of overlays and decals; server racks are almost identical. However, the military theme is better for me because the other site is a weapon of mass destruction being developed, and NORAD has a data bunker. Thanks for the idea though!

I found these pictures a while ago, its Pionen Data Center in Sweden. I remember asking jd40 about it, and he said he did use those pictures and the place as one of the references for Biome.
