The latest issue of PCG UK has an 8 page spread on Q4 with new shots and info about the upcoming Quake II sequel, it also states that it will possibly be released by Christmas time. If anyone with said issue wants to scan in the pages that'd be cool unless someone's done that already, I have no time to do it myself. Shots look pretty good but I hope that they'll be more detail on the model skins in the final version, they look a bit boring at the moment. The outside screenshot with the flags is pretty damn good and is just what I was expecting. Only criticism is.. what the fuck is with the grey skies?!! I want ORANGE damnit, KFS.. you and me need to have words again!

just watched the DOOM i mean Quake4 trailer. Looks graphically more impressive than Doom3, except it still feels like doom3. Walking around killing mutant lifeforms. Looks like the story is interesting, but its not as interesting as Gears of War by Epic games.

I noticed that the normal mapping on the characters and environments seemed washed out in places. Not sure if thats a technical flaw in the engine, but I am looking forward to seeing how they update some of the old characters.

Looks very much like Doom 3 but I'm sure the game will pan out to be totally different..

Such a shame that a talented crew such as Raven are using their time on creating what seems to be a Doom3 clone.

I don't buy that for a second, Zacker. The E3 Quake 4 stuff has been a pleasant suprise to me; large-scale exterior battles, a brutal twist in the narrative, a focus on action rather than Doom 3's scaremongering.

It adds up to promise a delightful blend of Quake 2 style singleplayer and Quake 3 style multiplayer.

Give the E3 trailer a whirl, gives a better impression.
