I knew it! The demo we saw at GDC he was like this is our tech demo, which he was playing the marine. I was like this is a tech demo, looks more like a prototype game!

So what. If we were going by that logic, movies would have stopped being fun ages ago. As would games because most games (and most GOOD games) haven't been truely original for quite some time now.

I think it's pretty impressive. Curious to see how it plays.

I'm more curious to see how it runs

But yes. This looks mighty spiffy. Will definitely be interesting to see gameplay footage and what they're trying to do with it.

Indeed, this will be really fucking special if they take advantage of the streaming technology to have huge battles.

Judging from the video link klein posted, it's a third-person shooter.

It looks nice and dandy and all (doesn't all nextgen tech?), but I hope they go all the way in different areas than graphics as well. More varied sounds, improvements to AI etc. Sooner or later, some company will have to make advances in those areas as well, instead of "just" upping the polycounts and cramming in more DX9 shaders.

Yeah thats what I was thinking insta. Looks kinda like there might be a res evil 4 style aiming system or something, which I'd prefer to another FPS to be honest.

Personally I'm hoping for something a little more creative and zany from the Xbox 360 launch titles. Jet Set Radio Future was the main reason I bought an Xbox (I bought it with that, Project Gotham Racing, and Halo - that was one hell of a first set of games!), but nothing from the list of 360 games I've seen jumps out like that did. Its early days though, and very few of the titles announced have screenshots or even much info, so I guess I'll just have to bide my time.

I doubt we will see many inventine and zany games coming from well-known companies in the future. Production costs for these next-gen games is probably insane, and why make a 40 million dollar game with experimental gameplay and maybe turn a profit, when you can instead make a 40 million dollar game with tried and true gameplay and be sure to make a profit.

If you want new gameplay, follow the games made by the maker of Black and White (god, what was his name again? I know for sure I couldn't spell it in a million years), or play wacky flash games

Yeah that looks great. But Im with mazzle on this. They should create their own soldiers instead of just using marines in every fucking game ;(

Yeah seriously. I mean Half-Life and Half-Life 2 had zombies and marines in them. And boy those games sucked royal ass didnt they?

Insta, you're thinking of Peter Molyneux (spelling?), but to be honest those aren't the sort of games I had in mind. Admittedly he has come up with some impressive gameplay ideas in the past, but generally not ones up my alley. I tend to prefer Japanese games, and despite this, Xbox is my console of choice I don't really mean strange or experimental gameplay either, just games with less standard visuals and presentation. JSR/JSRF both look amazing and have awesome soundtracks, Otogi has incredible flashy effects and beautiful sound effects, Wind Waker took cel-shading to a whole new level, Okami is styled after Japanese drawings, Auto Modellista kinda sucked but was for once a driving game that didn't strive to look real, etc... I like a bit of style I guess. Give me something stylish

Im not really attacking the game or epic, they know what they're doing and they're good at it, and why the hell go with something less certain at this point.

All im saying is that theres just so many of these kind of generic scifi games these days, only difference is that this one looks awesome.
