Dying Light 2

I got to sit through the demo presentation, at the end everyone got this Dying Light 2 figurine that came in this black box. Very cool.
Anyway...from watching them play the demo I'm convinced they will make the player choice thing work. As for whether players actually like that feature is speculative, but it seems pretty cool. The parkour looks like a big upgrade from DL1 such as using a zombie to break your fall when you ride it off the side of a building...vaulting off zombies to a higher ledge or something (was that in DL1) and the wallrunning worked great. The grappling hook plus paraglider gave it elements of Batman and Zelda BotW in a great way. tl;dr: I'm sold on the parkour and combat from what I have seen. As for the levels and art direction, I am very happy to say that the game isn't all brown/gray post-apocalypse-y. There is a lot of color and polish on the presentation and it feels like a very convincing world.
While not as flashy as what CDPR showed with Cyberpunk 2077 (which was in the meeting room right next door to Techland) I'm more jazzed about the gameplay and world you play in with DL2. Both games did great at the show so keep it up Poland.

Regarding what Izuno said

Looks pretty nuts I ended up watching the whole thing. I wonder how they handled level streaming or if they just omitted it from the demo.
I also hope the button spamming doesn't make it into the final product, it was annoying as shit in the last of us.

4 days ago, CD PROJEKT RED announced they were delaying Cyberpunk 2077 from April 2020 to September 2020.
Today, Techland just announced they were delaying Dying Light 2 from Spring 2020 to a date announced later.

Let's hope they won't settle for September. ?

The press looks and sound the same lol. Gives a weird deja vu ad if the companies were related

Video games are fucking hard to make.
Tools are getting better, but expectations double on a yearly basis, for both the quality of the products and how well they need to sell.
Also, the fact that the new gen of consoles is around the corner, probably has something to do with it too.
I think not a single person would be mad about an announcement like this, as long as it's for the developers well being and to also make a better game. The former is what concerns me, we've been seeing a lot of delays lately, and I'm certain the people making these games will crunch for the duration of that delay, and that sucks.

I'm hearing a lot of folks saying that both DL2 and CP2077 were delayed to accommodate the release of the next generation of consoles. Is this a valid theory? Do we know when these consoles will be out?

Ideally you want to release before the new generation so you can catch on the market while everyone is buying cheaper previous generations and I think this was the main reason for us and CDP to announce the game in early 2020. But don't take my word for it

I think R* were very smart with GTAV. They released on PS3/X360, a year later when the new consoles were out, they released it there, another year passed and they released it on PC. I think staggering the releases like this was very well played, it ensures that the name of the game lingers around for a longer span of time.
Obviously not all titles would lend themselves to this strategy, but It's one that's not used enough.

New consoles are always released in the holiday season; October/November so they are available for Black Friday, I believe.
Pretty sure that’s what they did for the PS5… just check that topic it must have been reported.
